How good is the 12A Turbo engine? Can I upgrade the 12A Turbo engine for more hp? Where can I find more information about the 12A Turbo engine?

they do sell nice stuff, but you are right. it takes them forever. coldy13 ordered his stuff about 5 months ago and is just now getting the last of the parts.

 

Will that 12at engine just bolt into a stock 12a chassi and run, or do you need special parts.

and sometimes it does take a while to get certain items. but the parts are ALWAYS excellent condition!

Yeah, all the parts I ordered came in great condition. The last parts I ordered are on their way right now, be here in a couple days. The reason it's taken so long for the last few parts is because I'm not paying for them, Robert sent them to me for free

 

the engines come with efi but we usally convert them to blowthrough systems for simplicity and ease of installation.here is an example

Ok, that helps. But you still havent answered my question. Is it a bolt in installation, or do I have to go out and buy extra parts to make it work?

 

the engine bolts in but if you are buying the used 12a turbo engine block as a turn-key turbo package it will definatly not suite your needs. its a good starting point .... weather you want to add an aftermarket engine management system, porting , turbo upgrade , 600 hp 12A......or drop it in and blowthrough(our most popular setup)its all possible ,,it just depends on your budget

 

So yeah, the engine block itself will bolt in just fine. Making it run is another story .

$2004? ****, that's $1000 more than I've spent turbocharging my 12a. I bought almost everything from Robert, he can get you great deals on parts. And if you can do the work yourself, then it will end up costing you way less than you ever thought it would.

Well, I wouldn't be limited by time. However, I wouldn't feel easy about paying and then waiting 6 months for something to come to me or me come to it.

you can do whatever you want to whtaever you want.

alls it requires is a custom manifold to be made, and you can even make the stock engine have a turbo on it....

Those 12A Turbos are getting pretty old now..

 

A 12AT has lower compression rotors, and EFI. By turbo-ing a "normal" 12A, you'd have a higher compression ration, and therefor more power off-boost.
The UK-bred systems of aftermarket turbo's for the 12A have proven reliable, so it ain't really needed to have lower compression. All depends on how much boost you want, and at which part of the powerband. Budget will be one of the most important factors when deciding.
But you could use a "normal" 12A with custom EFI and turbo setup and have both more reliability aswell as more power then the 12AT. It all depends on what you want from the setup, and how much you are willing to invest.
