12A Rotary Engine into Storage?
I have a very good running stock 12A with about 100K on the clock. It will come out and be put into another project. Is there anything I should do to prep the engine before it is pulled and goes in into storage for a year or so? I don't want to tear it down or take anything off if possible. Just enough to get it out of the car. Suggestions other than fuel stabilizer?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If carb is drained - no need for stabilizer, that's for the tank with gas in it
-I'd either use motor oil or Pennzoil makes an oil spray product called Engine Fogger which is sprayed into plug holes AND carb 2ndary throats for 10 sec. Hand crank the engine to spread it around-
-then SEAL!!! the engine up to protect from moisture getting in!! Plastic cover (eg plastic bag) held with zip ties over carb mouth AND exhaust ends. Some even go so far as to place desiccants (moisture absorbing material like those little disposable "bean-bags" that electronics have packaged with them) inside, ie taped into mouth of carb or exhaust.... just make sure you remember they're there!!![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
-occasional cranking over the engine (by hand) a few turns once a month couldn't hurt too
This is the routine I go thru every fall for winter storage of my RX (7 months! love those Alaska winters!) - always starts first turn of the key each spring

Seafoam Deep Creep works beautifully for engine storage. http://seafoamsales.com/deepCreep.htm
