12a Dual Weber Turbo
I have a 82 12a rx7 with a dual 36 dcd setup. I am putting in a T3 turbo but I have a few questions. I searched and it sounds like my carb setup should be fine for a blowthrough project however, I was just wondering if or what I need to do to the carbs to get them turbo prepped. What jet size I need and that sort of thing? Any information would be very helpful. Thank you

By the time you finish getting that nightmare done, you would be better off with a single setup. I would leave that Rotary Engineering setup alone, sell it somebody that would use it like it was originally designed for.
Just my 2 cents, not trying to offend you.

A long long time ago, when I was far from as old as I am now, I bought a Holley carb in my own naivety. Not knowing what I gotten myself into with the horror that would soon follow me around every corner, I bought it right up in a rush to get my car back on the road. I soon found out that it wasn't what I wished it to be considering the fact that every corner was a means to stop the flow of fuel due to the minor amount of lateral g-force.
Now I wish I would have went with a Weber IDA setup, even moreso considering that I wish to turbo this monster later this year. Now I am hoping that when the time come for the turbo (I'm shooting for next winter while it is down anyway) to be installed, I can sell the Holley for some of the cash I put into it, and buy a boost prepped Weber.
My suggestion to you is to decide if it is worth taking the loss of money and buying another carb for your turbo setup, or if you just keep the car the way it is. Obviously some carbs are better than other carbs for all corners of what you wish to use the car for. A dual Weber setup is not going to be fun whatsoever when it comes boost time.

Ya I know that it will be difficult to do and there are many other carbs that will work better and will be easier to boost. However, I have absolutly no problem with the difficulty of this project. I am a going to school to be an engineer so it is difficult, never done before projects that I really have fun with. The reason I bought the car was to learn about things like this and do something that very few people have done before me.
With that said, does anyone know of a website or anyone I can talk to about any information on boost preping a weber carb. I have been searching the net for a few days and i cant find very much on it. I am not scared to do the work myself and I am willing to just rip it apart and see what I can come up with if I cant find anything out there.
Thanks for the help.

Check some of the volkswagen forums or google. I think aircooled.net is one of them.
If you are going to be an engineer, please don't be one of those people who makes an easy thing hard for the next generation car, LOL!!!!!

So, I have 2 of these dual DCD setups. Are they a good candidate for boost prepping and a blow through? If so, what does it take and what's a rough idea of the cost for boost prepping?

I have not really started doing it yet so as far as how difficult and expensive it is i'm not to sure yet. I would imagine that a single holley or something would be a lot easier and cheaper but I figured I would give it a try anyway. However, I have not started doing anything yet just looking up the information on it and getting everything ready.
