12A bogging down

Ok I have a 12A 84. it does fine except when i'm going to redline- I switch to third go to 6000 (or around there) and the rpm's stay the like it's getting too much fuel, running to rich or something is all i can think of. Please help maybe it needs to be leaner (i do'nt even know how to do that). I'm new to 12A's.
Thanks,
Michael

Actually from what you describe, that's a classic symptom of a clogged fuel filter or a pump that's not delivering the goods.

What kind of exhaust are you running?

Sterling is on the money as usual. Sounds like weak fuel delivery to me too, or clogged cats. If its running to redline ok in 1st and 2nd, then Id look at the fuel system.

PS- just noticed the new sig Sterling.
