1/2 success =frustration
so the motor swap is complete, except to find out that my alarm system was wired to everything... and we couldnt figure out why the car wouldnt wor.... A right when we dropped the motor in we started it up to make sure it was going to start... it did so i shut it off instantly.. put everything back together, bolted stuff on. blah blah blah.. so now its time to drive.. my turnsignals dont work... the car wont start... ok... so after trouble shooting abit we find that the feul pump is not coming on, and cant figure out why... so we say screw we will hard wire it right now, till we figure it out(this is now about 4am) we have feul!.... and now my trailing has NO spark!!!! what the hell! drove it home with no tach.... and as soon as secondaries start to open i loose power it seems.... and as im driving , i hear... thud thud thud..... my front wheel had become loose, ... the studs are so long form the old wheels cause of the spacers that i guess these just loosened up , i dont know cause i put them on there tight! so day 3 today with the saga of the 7 transplant... im sad the gsl should be faster then the gs, and more fun... and its not!

Grab some wiring diagrams and pull the entire alarm system and hook everything back up the way it should be. If the alarm is causing the problems than you dont need it in there

Wiring problems take some patience to sort out, especially removing unwanted mods. But it can be done, you just have to be methodical.
Wiring diagrams are key; they show you the common points where symptoms x, y, and z come together.
Even with cars as old and relatively simple as these, if the wiring is screwed up, you can play hell trying to get anything to work right.

i would also like to add that if you turn the key halfway in between the "on" point and the motor actually turning over all the warning lights come on, there is a bit of a little buzz and the tach goes up!!!!

but thats the only time that the tach moves... the noise and the lights that come on are very sparatic... and not the normal.... i know that the tach is connected to the trailing and that is why the tach doesnt work... but the setup was pulled straight out of the car exactly the way it is now... ??????????????????? WTF

I'm not sure how much of this is different for FB's (I'm used to SA's) but when you switch from "accessory" to "on" but the engine is not running, the tach should indicate battery voltage, and the first 5 idiot lights should come on until the engine starts.
If you've got a problem with the ignition switch second circuit holding in both "start" and "on" positions, it could cause some of your symptoms: among other things, it powers your ignition system!

i think you may be diagnosing something that is not necessarily my issue.. i have no trailing spark... thats my tach prob... but we think it is due to the alarm system wiring.. but i dont know.. my coils are new msd blasters...
