Cool 0 to 60, how fast?

somewhere a while ago , someone asked how many seconds from 0 to 60 is good enough? what is acceptable , with a stock engine in an 85 GS , from a stop with a warm engine. I can bite a Honda usually.

For a stock 12a and no mods of any kind on the car, around 9 seconds--- acceptable by 1982 standards (when the ballsiest Pontiac Trans Am took over 11 seconds and a Corvette took over 8 to hit 60, but terrible compared to cars being built today.

usually, around 9 or 10 seconds for a stock GS. my SE covers the sprint in about 8 and it is stock.

Generally 9-9.5 sec is what they do. If your engine is really worn out, then 10 sec would be expected. Any minor mods like a free flowing exhaust without cats would cut about a second of. Put a bunch of basic bolt on mods like a Weber and exhaust, you can cut that time down to 6 sec or lower.

Yes, I do believe I remember reading about the stock 7 doing 0-60 in 10. I believe it was the 85 issue of car and driver. More mods the faster you do it in.
