Who has that kind of car, and doesn't bring a spare alternator? LOL

But that was pure domination. I would have like to have seen the 20B annihilate that V8. But all 3 were damn sweet cars.

Nice post DF.

How can a slid into the grass kill the alternator. It's also a 20B as stated in the video on the first and 12A on the second. I guarantee it would be a differnt story if they were the same car with different engines. The Rx7 just has great handeling and can easily take him in the corners but wouldn't have a chance of the straights. Just the stance and wheelbase is easy to see on that.

yea i agree the 12a wouldnt have a chance if the straight aways where longer on that coarse. and the reason why they said the 20b broke its alternator was probely because they didnt want to show a video where there was no close action. watching that one lap he did in the 20b the v8 had no chance at all

Did you see the smoke as the 20B FC went towards the 1st turn?
Looks like he blew his alternator belt going down the straight.Probably lost his PS too, which would explain the loss of control going into the turn.

99.9% sure they knew who was going to win with the 20B. those are track cars. I'm sure they know plus or minus a few seconds what thier lap times would be. Matching the 12A Turbo up was closer in lap times to the V8.

Does Ford make a newer crate OHV V8? It's just odd that every car/truck makes only comes with DOHC, hell even the GT's is over cammed. The old Cobra R's had a OHV but that was back in 95' and that was a 5.8L.

But what am I doing, any more of this V8 talk and I'll be banned.

I'm going to be running a Tandle V8 myself. I have no problem with the rotary but I had a rebuilt V8 and no rotary experience so I pulled it, put in my garage and now it sits with the tranny still atached.

The aussies.

If you noticed they talked about Holdens as well. Both the Ford Falcon and Holdens are available in Australia.

Ford has a better line-up overseas than they do here. It's pathetic.

I still have it attached to the tranny sitting in my Shed just in case I ever wanted to sell it, which I do but I don't to ship cause of the freight.

That's why they banned all the other cars from the national touring car category because Holdens and Fords were being dominated. First by the Cosworth Sierra's and then the Rx-7's and Skylines.

its not that costly to ship an engine. I do it often
abf shipping. ship as a 1 time shipper and you get a huge discount.

ship with the oil pan and pickup removed. It ties down to a pallet really easy...
ive shipped all kinds of places.

ive never paid more than 220 to ship.

its all about dimensions. get a small pallet. or make it smaller.

The Rx7s ran but never dominated the Aussie scene and it was International Group C rules that caused the issues that resulted in the Aussies going to their own series of V8 Supercars. This series has been as big in Australia as Nascar is here so you cant argue with success.

The Cosworth Sierras were incredible at 750 hp then the Godzilla years were just a cake walk for Nissan. These cars were built to the Group C rules by the manufacturers and were the best of the best, but they didn't help the local companies: GM (Holden) or Ford sell cars locally. The powers that be supported by the car companys came up with a suitable agenda that has been a roaring success.
