Question $3200 to $3500 for 13B TII swap

I went to a local shop and they estimated $3200 to $3500 to do a complete 13B TII swap into my 84-SE. No engine rebuild involve, just a stock swap. What do you guys think? Is it a good price or can I do better if I do it myself? I’m not a super mechanic but I can manage.

Thank you,

Luism12lm

Doing it yourself allows to you to spend the extra money on a rebuild and port as well upgrading a few things here and there. If you know what your doing you'll end up with a quicker more reliable result.

Is that with you supplying the necessary parts?

No, I drop the car and I pick it up in two to three weeks.

That is a great price, I spent that much on my rebuild alone.

I have to agree with RXJIM, that is a pretty good price for drop off and pick up. I mean they are gonna work out all bugs, and all you have to do is turn the key and go.

Im at 2.5k on my swap as of right now, and I dont even have the engine in the car yet!

But for me its pride factor, I love to say look what I built. Thats just the way I am. I love to take things that dont run, and breathe life back into them.

?

Not to be judging anybody, but are these guys reliable?

Do they know what they are doing? Take that into consideration before spending $3500 bucks!
