Who's going to the Mitty?

Just a reminder, the Mitty starts one week from today. It's shaping up to be a great event and Tim has reported that the weather is going to be fantastic.

Here's a link to the SA/FB group that will be camped out at turns 3, 4 and 5 (otherwise known as Camp Tim):

And here's Tim's weather map:

Since there so many rotor heads coming to the Mitty. I'm in the market for an SA
shifter surround for a GS or limited edition interior. This is the plastic part that pops
on around the shifter and has the boot attached.

I don't need a boot but what I'm looking for is the correct surround. The correct one
has the plastic trim around the boot opening as chromed plastic. The base version
is just black. At some point I replaced my original which was in poor shape with a
junkyard find from a base model and its black . I tried painting it with the "chrome"
duplicolor stuff but it really doesn't look the same.

So if anyone has one bring it to the Mitty and lets make a deal.

Well, I woke up in Loiusville this morning. And, I don't remember this tattoo either....

Anyway, hit a pothole in the dark pouring rain and it was pretty harsh. Can't believe that tire didn't blow. Still seems tight and straight though, of course I haven't looked at it in the daylight yet either.

Oh, and I think my tranny might be whining... Wish me luck. I'm going to loaf around a couple more hours, go get a massive breakfast (had beef jerky for dinner), and then continue my journey. See you this evening with luck and a prayer...

P.S. How's this for funny. Found a 'zine full of hotel coupons at a rest area just North of Loiusville. Saw one for Best Western, $49.00. Cool. Find it and ask, how much? She tells me singles start out at $68.00. Show her the coupon and she gives me the room at that price. Turns out, as stated in the coupon (had I read it) it is a king suite room. So I've got this actual living room, plus a little microwave/fridge/sink kitchenette, plus a king sized bed you could have an eight member orgy on. Downside is, the place is a bit run down and unkept.

Sounds like the trip is going to be half the adventure Kent!

Don't get too comfortable, you've still got a few miles to go. We'll help you put the car back together for the trip back.

Did you have to dodge any tornadoes last night?

T G, I think you're looking for for an 80 surround as opposed to a 78- 79 SA. As I understand it, the 80 SA had the chrome trim ring on all build levels.

They also had the chrome trim insert on the door armrests, a chrome garnish at the top of the armrest handle, and a chrome stripe running across the midline of the dash, where the top meets the bottom pieces.

Sure wish I could go to the Mitty; sounds like a blast.
