Most of my 'power' comes from just plain stubborness tied to a simple mantra.
"I'm smarter than ________"
You can put anything in the blank as long as it's not a person or idea, i.e., carb, engine, tool, piece of wood, etc.. This works well when learning a new skill or technique from scratch. It may sound silly and simplistic, but i't's been successful for me.

Well my name's Paul, I live in the Bay Area in California.
I'm 18 and currently unemployed and searching; need a job that will be flexible with my school hours.
I go to Chabot Community College, started at 16, graduated High School at 15 1/2. My major is in Industrial Design, I would like to go into the automotive sector... though currently all my courses center around auto mechanics and welding... mostly as a fall back and because I don't feel my art skills are good enough for a university. Well, enough sap about me, here's a picture from my cell... yes that is me.
I would post a picture of my 1982 RX7 but I am too embarrassed to show her in the condition she's in now; so instead here's a picture of Moby, one of my favorite cats at the animal shelter I volunteer at.
Oh, as for the screen name. It has nothing to do with the way I see myself or crap; I was 13 and needed an email address for Yahoo, and I had just finished watching some movie about demons and crap... I've used that SN ever since for many websites, since its easier for me to remember. So if you see a DemonSpawn67 on any other website/IM service its probably me.

I just chopped off all my hair, shortest I've had it since I was a young lad drinking milk and eating animal crackers at nap time with me mates in the kindergarten...Apparently I've lost 5 pounds of hair.

My name is Chris
I am 20 years old
Sometimes I wear glasses, sometime contacts...
I currently work in automotive upholstery at the National Auto Spa
We reupholster seats, door cards, consoles, etc.
We also install electric sunroofs and many other accesories (heated seats, DVD players, etc. etc.)
I dont really go to church
I grew up around cars, my dad had to babysit me after my mom left, so I went to work with him. I was the wrench fetcher, and was fascinated and soon graduated to assistant (without pay!!) But I enjoyed it. By the time I was 13 I was adjusting valve lash and doing timing belts... My first car was a rotary, and when I got it I was a rotary dunce, and made alot of false claims.... I have since built two engines, my 12a and a friends 13b, and I was humbled by a dyno.

I think we're two of the few females with a first gen passion. There are actually lots of women on the forum, but 50% of them don't post. Of the remaining 50%, most of them only post in the generation specific sections according to what kind of car they or their SO drives. There's a teeny, teeny, teeny percentage who even bother to visit the Lounge. And I think 2cute and I are the most active out of those (since we produce multiple daily posts). All the others are sporadic.
Nice to meet you too

Lovin' the hair.
Stu, Thanks for the invite to join you guys, but I was a real hippie, don't need to pretend. I had my long hair days from 1969 right on through to the early 90's, which is about when some of you guys were born, right?
This post is showing what fine American citizens we 1st gen driver's are!

I'm already growing my hair out to see how I'd look with a pony tail. Beats shaving my head. *L* Tired of scaring people into thinking I'm a serial killer psychopath.
