Well, I guess since everyone else is posting shots of their ugly mugs I might as well do it too. :)

No, I hate to break it to you but I am not Asian. My screen name is a close Chinese translation of my last name...

I just turned 39 last October, but I still feel and act like I'm 19. I have three sons (14,9,8 years old) and my wife claims that she still loves me despite "that damned car". I work way too much, as a supervisor for a (not to be named) meat processing facility. My people smoke and cook the meat that most of you eat every day.

Other vehicles; the wife runs a daycare so she gets a minivan, but at least its a supercharged minivan (no kidding). My other car is a 98 BMW 328i, which makes the drive to work almost as much fun as when I drive the 7 (well, almost).

My prior love was the Datsun Z cars. My last one was a '73 and I still miss it, but it rotted out underneath and died of cancer. :( When I finally got the money together to pick up another one, there weren't any available. Instead I found my 85GS in "basket case" condition and paid way too much for it. I've never regretted that decision though....

Anyway, here's a shot of me working the starting line at one of the autocrosses. Videos of my car in action can be found at http://www.youtube.com/Kentetsu1

No good pics of me online. This one is around the SE section. Good enough.

http://i27.tinypic.com/xqm4xs.jpg

I am 20 years old, no church here. Long curly-ish brown hair, hence the Jeezus name.

Love driving and traveling, I will go to other states just for the hell of it. I want to know more and more about rotarys, and it usually makes me stay up late or late for work. I literally have teh whole FSM and tons of carb tuning guides printed out. Never hurts to have enough info.

Work as a cable dispatcher for comcast. It drives me insane just answering calls all day. I would rather be out installing the cable, but I need a truck to do so. I'll give you 3 guesses on what truck I am looking for, but you would probably only need one :)

i'll be honest, i like the stock look...a lot. But there's so much on that car that needs restoring that i might as well trick it out a little. I dont really have the time (or patience) to do a full restoration on it...but i'll definitely have to find another 1st gen and make a project out of it. Besides, that one's just a gs, if i restore one i want it to be a gsl-se.

but thanks for the compliment on my car anyhow.

Black88inmd 01-23-08 09:57 AM

Names Duncan, be 18 in a few days here.
No church for me before or ever
Currently a student and work part time as a CAD Operator, moving full time to CAD Operator/designer for a fire alarm system company here pretty soon.
Been fixing things for myself as long as I can remember and got into combustion engines around 10 riding dirtbikes, it's been allll down hill since lol

The RX7, she needs some work. Rescued from a kid trying to kill the poor thing.

My name is later, Bill (lol) I'm 40, have been married for 19 and a half years.
We go to a non denominational Christian chuch and are very active. We don't believe in "denominations" or "religion" because we feel that those are mans rules on how to worship God. We believe that the church is the people who go and that what matters is a personal relationship with Christ. I can't force my beliefs on others, only share what I believe. In the end everyone is responsible for their own decisions. I am either wrong or I am right in my beliefs. If I am wrong then the only one that loses out is me. If I am right, then those who don't believe lose out. Eternity is a long time to be wrong. simple as that.

I work on police cars for a living at the city motorpool. They wreck em, we fix em.

I have been working on cars since I rebuilt the engine in my mom's 65 impala at age 13. Have been in the Navy (painted airplanes for 8 years), been an over the road and regional truck driver, heavy duty wrecker driver, school bus pdi inspector and RV tech.

Thinking about moving back out west. don't know yet.

My FB is the only car I have sold and bought back.

Later,
Bill

Hello, the names Mike, I'm 23 and run a company that sells kitchen hardware as part of my mom's multi-residential kitchen business. I got an 83 LE that I've had since high school, a delorean that I am just getting into and an RX-8 that's my DD. I was going to get my dad's 89 T2 but after I got a series of speeding tickets within a week in my RX-8 that offer is taken away and he is keeping it in FL.

Were making a local turbo fb crew video in may, you have to hear what it sounds like:) Music to your ears

I just looked at your progess thread, your car is going to be badass once its all running (I would say when its 'done' but everyone knows they are never done)

hey Scott, is that a full beard??? perhaps much of your power is derived from that beard....or maybe the ponytail. your identity still remains as mysterious as darth vader's though.

IanS 01-24-08 08:59 PM

WTF man. I guess it was something though. I'll have to sneak one next time I come down or you come up...

I doubt his power is derived from "the beard". I think its more the hair than anything.

Full beard is my winter cover, Fu Man Chu or goatee in the warmer seasons.

Most of my 'power' comes from just plain stubborness tied to a simple mantra.

"I'm smarter than ________"

You can put anything in the blank as long as it's not a person or idea, i.e., carb, engine, tool, piece of wood, etc.. This works well when learning a new skill or technique from scratch. It may sound silly and simplistic, but i't's been successful for me.

Well my name's Paul, I live in the Bay Area in California.

I'm 18 and currently unemployed and searching; need a job that will be flexible with my school hours.

I go to Chabot Community College, started at 16, graduated High School at 15 1/2. My major is in Industrial Design, I would like to go into the automotive sector... though currently all my courses center around auto mechanics and welding... mostly as a fall back and because I don't feel my art skills are good enough for a university. Well, enough sap about me, here's a picture from my cell... yes that is me.
http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...24-08_2153.jpg
I would post a picture of my 1982 RX7 but I am too embarrassed to show her in the condition she's in now; so instead here's a picture of Moby, one of my favorite cats at the animal shelter I volunteer at.
http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...30-07_1308.jpg
Oh, as for the screen name. It has nothing to do with the way I see myself or crap; I was 13 and needed an email address for Yahoo, and I had just finished watching some movie about demons and crap... I've used that SN ever since for many websites, since its easier for me to remember. So if you see a DemonSpawn67 on any other website/IM service its probably me.

My name is Chris
I am 20 years old
Sometimes I wear glasses, sometime contacts...
I currently work in automotive upholstery at the National Auto Spa
We reupholster seats, door cards, consoles, etc.
We also install electric sunroofs and many other accesories (heated seats, DVD players, etc. etc.)
I dont really go to church
I grew up around cars, my dad had to babysit me after my mom left, so I went to work with him. I was the wrench fetcher, and was fascinated and soon graduated to assistant (without pay!!) But I enjoyed it. By the time I was 13 I was adjusting valve lash and doing timing belts... My first car was a rotary, and when I got it I was a rotary dunce, and made alot of false claims.... I have since built two engines, my 12a and a friends 13b, and I was humbled by a dyno.

I think we're two of the few females with a first gen passion. There are actually lots of women on the forum, but 50% of them don't post. Of the remaining 50%, most of them only post in the generation specific sections according to what kind of car they or their SO drives. There's a teeny, teeny, teeny percentage who even bother to visit the Lounge. And I think 2cute and I are the most active out of those (since we produce multiple daily posts). All the others are sporadic.

Nice to meet you too :)
