place of the pins with a hole drilled the right size for the screws.
I like what I see so far. Let us know when the 1st batch gets its chrome.

I got my plates back from my buddy at the machine shop and will put my axles together tomorrow. These are like what RE-speed sells, but they only have plates for the big bearing axles, and i have an 83 small bearing axle. so, I decided to use some of my own resources as i have limited time, and limited funds. I already had some good ole 1/4" plate steel stock laying at my shop, and a friends who works at a local machine shop. i called in a quick favor and couldnt be happier. here is an example of wimpy as stock parts vs beefy proper parts. 1/4" plate and grade 8 bolts
and this is why these are needed, these are the stock bearing retainers, back to back

Hope Kentetsu's luck was better; Car ran great and looked fabulous, but several just-cherried-out cars making their first appearances at the show took all the plaques. My 10-year-old paint is starting to show some history.
Not bitter; they were damn fine looking cars. They also had 5-figure money behind them, minimum unless I miss my guess.
It was horrid hot, too. 98 at the peak I think. The drive home without AC was skin-peeling.

I had a pretty good day overall. Another win in CSP (even though they put a later model Mustang with a huge turbo in my class?)
The cars that beat me were all turbo/supercharged. I was the fastest NA at the event. The weather absolutely rocked!

On-Topic; I unpacked the car and gave her a "well done!" pat on the fanny.
Off-Topic;
Left to right: BrGreenSA, Sarah-7, and DivinDriver @ JCCS 8
First three non-vendor RX-7's through the gate, and as this is the first year they let FC's in the show, Sarah's car would be the "official" first FC ever at that show.

replaced my axle seals, put my axles back in, new rear pads and rotors, and test drove and filled up on gas. So far, So good. No fuel leaks and no excessive diff noise. Now I hafta retune my SAFC all over again, the EVO 560cc injectors added more fuel that I had originally predicted :O

I got a cheezy AFR meter from ebay. I might as well take atvangage of that O2 sensor in my RB headers.
I normally just hack sparkplugs with the band saw to tune carburators (I also am guilty of smelling for unburnt hydrocarbons in the exhaust for "ruff tunes"), but I figure this engine is liquid cooled as well as a WHOLE different kinda carb from my normal so caution should be exorsized.
