Stereo Setups....

So this is what I get to listen to everyday.

Deck: Panasonic with Pre-outs(Thank God) and Ipod
Front Speakers: Infinity Reference 6.5" 65RMS
Back Speakers: Infinity Kappa's 6X9" 100RMS

Bass:
Polk Momo 10" 300RMS with sealed enclosure
Kenwood KAC-7203 Bridged 500RMS

Then 6X9's were placed on a 1.5" fiberboard that was custom cut. I still need to fit the sideskirts that were there before so the gaps are filled. The Sub is held in place by the Sunroof straps. The front speakers are placed on 1/2" spacers stacked and sealed to a piece of plywood covered in carpet. Its somewhat sketchy but it sounds great. I had a nicer deck but that got stolen.

So lets see what you guys have...

you should lay the sub down and aim it at the rear hatch, it'll give you a better sound. I take it that you don't live in the ghetto or your stuff would of been gone already. it only takes a clothes hanger to get in the FB, (i locked my keys in my car the other day ) i'll take a pic of my stuff later. MikewoodKozar has an extremely nice stereo set up

+1 on the sub. i should have mine done late this summer (don't have anything in there right now). im going with alpine speakers, an alpine type r 12" in a custom built box, diamond audio crossovers, alpine v12 amp for the sub (undecided for the rest of the speakers), and a double-din touchscreen head unit. should be pretty sweet...

i got 2 memphis mojo 12" comp. subs, 2 memphis mcd-1000W rms amps, memphis 9V line driver, memphis M class 4's up front, and 6x9's in the bins, Kinetik 2600amp Power cell, optima yellow top,and an alpine cda-9889 deck.

plenty to make the hatch glass jump a good 4" if it's unlatched. and break it if i don't have the sunroof or windows down.

Ive always noticed that if the subs point back, it is better sound.

in suvs, pointing up is pretty common too, but in a hatch you will likely get better sound pointing back. in a proper trunck there is little difference that is hearable. one of the main reasons they point back in cars is because no one wants their sub pounding against the seat.

also since ive been there, how good are sunroof straps for securing the sub(honest question dont know what those straps are)... ive had one take my passenger seat headrest off and into the windshield in my other car but it wasnt secured at all.

i dont have any stereo at all in mine lol

The sunroof panel straps would probably hold down a sub pretty well as long as you could fit the sub underneath them.

+1 on that...I had a box with 2 10" woofers pointing back in my Camaro and they sounded AWESOME! Too bad I blew them both up! My FB has no stereo in it right now. Someone broke the quarter panel window one April Fool's Day and helped themselves to the head unit...I was hoping it was a joke and they'd bring it back...LOL

Yeah I Made the rear Board. I took some 1 1/2in Particle board and and a stencil with some card board and the traced it. I then removed the fabric that covered that area and screwed the board to the center using some long screws. It is very solid and has added some but more volume to the car.

Then the 6 1/2's in front I took 4 1/2" spacers and glued them together and screwed them to a new piece of plywood that I covered. The speakers have directional tweeters that I am able to angle towards me.

Next I need to make a cover for the gaps in the back. I'll post more pics tomorrow about the board.

Sometimes I wish I didnt have the rear seat so I could have the bins. They are such a great place to hide an amp and install some 6x9's. Custom box in the back and bam, it's done.

But no, I have cheap Rockfords 5.25" in the front, and 6.5"s in the back. My agenda for this winter is to make a false floor for the back, make a panel for the back (similar to what you did) and put 6x9's in it.

Looks good man.
