so my OE starter died from my 84 rx, replaced with a gen 2 starter however it doesnt seem to spin the motor as fast as the OE, any ideas? battery is full charge, starting problem occured after starter change, OE starter car would fire up with two pumps of the pedal, now it just cranks and wants to fire but doesnt

It could be that the kilowatt rating on the FC starter you picked up is less than the kilowatt rating on the FB starter. That would cause the engine to rotate slower. You should also check your ground cable and make sure its clean and tight. It's probably fine, but it doesn't hurt to check and see if there might be an issue.

S4 starter should spin the engine faster.
One amazing thing to do, if one is not afraid of electric motors, is to take the end cap off of the starter motor and shine up the commutator with some emery cloth. You can make sure the brushes move freely in their slots at the same time.
Feels lIke a new starter after you're done. The only hard part is remembering how to pin all the brushes back so you can put it back together.

Actually the s4 didn't spin faster or maybe it didn't have the torque. Not sure, the OE reman definatly spins the motor a hair faster and that's what it needed
