I seen this in the suggestion's section and thought it would be cool to have a monthly first gen rx7 car contest! Winner gets to post a pic of there car up somewhere maybe on the banner!

What do you guy's think? I wouldnt know how too go about it but if anyones interested post on up and lets get this started!!

Its a wasted effort. It will never happen. Plus, having an "FB of the month" contest would require a lot of wasted time for the mods. They've got their hands full with, "Can I turbo my 12A" threads.

Also, there isn't enough amazing looking FB's to do more than one year's worth of winners.

i think its a good idea and i believe that you shouldnt have to have a show car to win SA/FB of the month. it could be a combination of things that could entitle you to a win. things such as a restoration job thats being done, an archiveable thread that you've written on your car(one that would be accurate and thorough to help others). or it could just be a nice FB or a junker that makes people laugh.

Or if your car looks like junk but runs like hell. There is too many variables inbetween great cars and junk cars... I wonder how the judging would go. Good Idea nonetheless, and I voted.

Although a good idea in principal, that's alot of extra work for the mods as said, and alot of criteria that would have to be looked at before a car could be chosen. However if a thread were set up specifically for submissions, then only those interested and entered would have to be considered, instead of having to search through the entirety of the forum for viable cars. State in the opening thread the criteria and those posting would have to give a valid reason why they're car should be the "1st Gen Of The Month". Something like Funcationality of modifications, a restored car, a show winner, etc. There are reasons to do it, and reasons not to, but I say go for it. It can't work if no one tries.

Right...The more people we get to vote the better! The mod's are watching..and they are interested in this idea! They just want to know how interested we all are so thats why i posted a poll!

If we get enough to vote yes then it will be a reality!

And i agree the car's dont have to be cherry! Just average good looking or good running cars! I think it would be great to show off what we got!

Why don't we just call it feature of the month? That way there will not be any scoring or judges... Just pick a random member, host his pics and tell about what is done and what plans to be done, etc.

Sounds good to me! Like i said i dont know how we would go about it but im putting it out there for everyone else to see!

I was also thinking we could post a poll at the beginning of each month of anyones car who wants to participate! they would just have to provide a good pic! Then at the end of that month whoever won the poll would get there pic put up somewhere in the first gen section for that next month.

That way less work for mod's..

We won't have the "who is the stockest" or "which has the best smile" awards. It would be cool to just the "winner" Post some pictures of his/her ride, tell what has been done, what the final product would be/like to be, quirks the car has, generic information sharing, etc. You could have the fastest RX one month, and a junkyard find with no drivetrain, wheels, and on cinderblocks for the main picture the next month.
