First races of the year were last weekend. Got the win in CSP both days, despite my bald Sumitomos and rain on Saturday. Here's a video from Saturday, not much rotary action because we all raced in the same heat, but there is an RX8 in there and a bunch of other cool cars (and a few snippets from my incar action).

Here's a short, low quality shot someone got of my a couple of weeks ago. Racing on a wet, very dirty course, on completely bald Sumitomos made for a very interesting day.
On the last turn of the course, if you watch closely you'll see me kick a cone up into the air after catching the edge of it with my rear tire. The cone landed right back where it started from, so I didn't incure any penalties. Pure skill, I tell you.

Very cool video about autocrossing. I've been told by 80's Old School that the bug eyed sprite at the end of the video is powered by a 20b.

Our latest club event, and my best performance to date. Only 6 seconds off FTD, I LOVED the course.

FB road race car, first time he'd autocrossed it.

Latest run in the RX-7. I took an additional 130# of weight out, New RE Speed camber plates, New Tokico Illuminas, and fresh Hoosier A-6 tires.
Car is starting to get wicked fast!!! Now I need more power!!

This was the fourth run of my first ever autocross a few weeks ago:

By the way, you guys should look up a plugin for virtualdub called Deshaker, it works wonders:

It was a Corvettes of Minnesota-hosted event at a local technical college. The college has a big-ol' track behind it for training truck drivers, which makes for a fantastic autocross course. There's another one at the same location in just a couple of weeks, and I'm really excited for it.

Not autocross, but rather rallycross. The Nationals, at that. Was only my 4th event ever, and the car needs front suspension, BADLY.....

Thanks! Too bad the audio is crap. You could have heard the fury of the bumpstop action, as well as how well that edelbrock 600 works on the SE 6 port engine.
The bumpstop action was so rough, it broke the hangers on the exhaust. RB headers and presilencers are WAY overbuilt. The full wieght of the exhaust bouncing between the underside of the car and top of the axle only managed to strip the threads in the nuts holding the presilencer to the header. The car competed the full day on day 2 with a chain wrapped around the muffler and tied into one rear hanger and the tie-down hook.
Well, actually the first run, the chain had been tied to the hanger at the axle, which broke again, and the chain then became a "tailhook", and managed to hook the rubber timing hose at the finish line. One in a million shot, and we pulled it off.
Yes, we actually wrote "Tailhook" on the back window for the remainder of the event with bright white vinyl letters. Gotta know how to make fun of yourself, before you can really do it to others.

What you really want to shoot for is getting more grip on the front end, rather than less on the rear.
From what I can see in the video, it looks like you would really benefit from some camber plates. You already have good tires (888's, right?).
Other than that, better setup before the corner would help. Concentrate on slow in, fast out. The majority of your understeer issue could be handled by simply going into the corner more slowly. I know it hurts to hear that, but your overall times will improve because you will exit the corner faster, and obtain a higher speed on the interval before the next turn. This is especially important on a turn right before any kind of a straight section.
But overall, looked like some great driving and you seemed to handle the handling shortcomings quite well. Nice car from what I could see.
