R.I.P. Shiro
In my last thread concerning my T-boned FB, I said that I would keep people updated on what would be happening. Well, sadly, I shall be saying goodbye to my RX-7.
I'm letting the insurance company take ahold of it, and writing out a pretty decent check for it. Of which, I have already purchased a replacement car.
Beware: non-rotary

I had a friend help me decide on what to do, and after thinking it over, I've decided to go with this. It is one of the cars I've liked since high school, and not to mention that parts for it are bountiful and easier to find, and cheaper.
I won't be part of the RX-7 community as much, but I'll still possibly pop in from time to time.

Bummer, man. You should buy it back and sell it to someone on here. I'm sure someone would want to fix it up. At the very least, there are a lot of good parts on there to keep other 7s on the road.

Definitly buy it back. From other stories I've heard they don't charge you very much to buy it back from them. Most of the cases I've read it's been less than $100 and you can easily part it out for ten times that much. Shame to see another one die.
Enjoy the torque.

I second the buy back. I usually would sell the cars back for a couple hundred dollars if the blue book was below $5k. I know you are from up in the DC area. I would buy it from you and keep it at my brothers place until I could pick it up.

It was already agreed upon to give it to the insurance company last week. I already decided long ago to give the car up if the insurance company offered me a decent amount, which they did. $3,720 for my high mileage SE. They would've taken about $900 off if I were to keep the car, but I already decided I wanted a V8 Camaro or Firebird.

Last V8 I drove was my parent's 65 Ford Galaxy, two door convertible, white with the red interior. Nice car but drove like a tank.
That was back in '69.
I imagine the early '90's camero's handle a little better, but with less *****.
Give me an SE any day.

I loved my SE, it was go-kart fun, and at first, I didn't want to give it up, because I loved that car. Or, I was looking at getting a clean 2nd Gen vert. But, my partner suggested that I look into other cars. So, soon the looking into the 2nd Gen went into me remembering about the Camaros and Firebirds. I have always loved the 4th Gen Camaros and Firebirds. I test drove a '97 Z28 when I got out of high school, and enjoyed it. I might get a 7 later in life, but no telling. All depends on where my interests lay.

thats too bad the camaro has a salvage title. it looks nice though. my mom had one just like that with black leather and an auto trans back when they were new. it was a beast compared to the cars of its time.
