Pic Request: Low SA's and FB's
I was looking through the picture thread on here and came across a Series 1 slammed to the ground. It's a little low for my taste but I love the way it looks. So I'm looking for some pics of 7's that have been lowered a little more than an inch or two. Just getting some ideas as to how low/high I want my '83.

My turn to say it!
Welcome to the Darkside. And, I'm not sure if a lot of people had their cars slammed to the ground, because most have agreed that they're already low enough. Altho, most users have used performance spring kits that have lowered it but not as low as that car. However, the cars do look nice when they're dropped by about 1 inch.

Even with a 1 or 2 inch drop, the car still looks high. I'm into the low and wide look with going as far as a widebody. Also, I know having a car that low isn't exactly streetable but I'm just going to have the RX7 for a fun toy to use for autocross and mid-ohio. Also, I'm curious about a good setup to get the car much lower than stock without screwing up the stability of the car. And I'm very curious about the car I have pictured. Does anyone know more about it and/or have more pics?

yes i would agree on that.. my first rx was lowered by the previous owner about 3inches.. it was a bitch going through parking lots with speed bumps higher than 1/2in and forget about going down a country driveway with out dragging the center of it.. and lets not forget about trying to get a jack of any kind under it to change a tire lol..

You can go lower than 2" but then you have to start doing other things to keep your geometry right, hardest is the rear, to do it right you have to adapt a coil-over set in, and nobody makes one, stock shock location wouldn't work anyway

Mine is somewhere between a 1.5 and 2 inch drop. I never even measured factory s i'm not sure. I corrected my rollcenters and put the 3rd link in the rear and panhard for the rollcenters back there, so I wasn't worried to much about what it was at factory. But I only have about 1.5-2 inches of travel before hitting the cut bumpstops, The spring rates are 350 front 150 rear, with 1 1/8 front sway bar and 5/8 rear bar. Front roll center is at 5 inches and rear is as about 9. The car handles very neutral and predictable. It rides just fine on the street too. rarely bottoms out. I've hit bump stops once and that was in a pot hole on a dirt road. I wouldn't Go any more than 2" drop for sure though. Unless you are building a race car and can fix the geometry!!!
