Pearl White FB?

Pearl White FB?
I have the motor out of my car and want to get a very nice paint job done. My car is 100% stock looking but has a heavily modded 13bt in it. I want to to keep it stock looking but am wondering if a pearl white paint would not look right on an fb, especially with the black molding. My car is dover white right now and it seems to be a little off-white. Does anyone have pics of an FB with any kind of pearl white or possibly a chaste white (3rd gen white) paint job? Also let me know if you think it would be too flashy.

Whire pearl looks great in the beginning but in the long run it's going to look like ****. It fades and doesn't look good after a while. I am a detailer & seen plenty of cars this color come through the shop & look real bad. It's hard to bring the shiny pearl color back.

i dont like the look without the mouldings. it looks incomplete as the front and rear bumpers have the moulding integrated. just does not look good without it. also, it does protect the doors and i am a fan of that!

Shaving the trim off of the bumpers doesn't look very good IMO. There is a guy that posted a picture of his freshly painted red FB with all the black trim around the windows and the black strip on the front bumper painted red, and it just doesn't look right. You need the front black strip to denote the change in direction between the two arcs, where they intersect. Also, the side markers don't stick out very far, and IMO it looks great. I'll snap a picture tomorrow for how far the markers stick out of the side of the car. You need to see it in person to appreciate the no side molding look.

i think it looks cleaner without the moldings but you have to paint the black stripe on the bumper the same color as the car and eliminate the side fender and quater signals,,,and it will look great but its a personal thing its up to you.

well I think that red one takes the cake as one of the ugliest thus far.. it looks like a blown up plastic hot wheels car that didn't get the attention to detail because of its size..but to each his own. Anyway back to the thread topic, does anyone have any pictures of a bright white fb. I can't find one. I am leaning towards "chaste white"

Chaste white would look interesting on a FB. I still don't think you should put the bump strips back on, but different strokes for different folks.

I've always liked this car, a nice bright white:
I have a dover white SE, and I agree it's definitely an off-white color. Not that it's a bad thing; it definitely gives the car an older look. You don't really notice the difference until it's parked next to a newer white car.

So I am going with something like this white. It is a brighter white with pearl in the clear. I will prob be getting this done in a couple of months but in the meantime I need to get my motor in my car and get it going. My problem is I don't know which of these two evils to choose from- 1) Keeping my engine bay the original dover white (nice condition) and having a clash with the new white or 2) painting the engine bay some sort of black, but with a good paint from a real gun.
