I'm disassembling my interior stuff right now, prepping to install. My kit arrived yesterday, incredibly well packaged. The fabrication is excellent. Nice welds and not a sharp edge on the entire assembly. Just beautiful.

This kit looks spot on, only hearing good things about it. Will be saving up for one of these next, for sure.
Quick question, what rod ends are those? They don't look to be FB nor EF Civic...

You are correct they are not Fb or Civic.
I will inform you on what they are if you buy a kit.
Otherwise it's proprietary information.

Slowly saving up for this kit. The Bar exam wiped my savings out combined with my student loan payments. I'm literally in extreme poverty right now, not even joking I think I have about 1800$ to my name in savings and a 200$ a week income. I still need to pay an 800$ moral evaluation fee and an exam course but so far I have saved up 400$ to buy this kit so me saving up for this is a testament to how much I support the idea of this product and the workmanship that goes into it. Thankfully I live at home and the worst paying job I can get with my law degree pays at least 3 grand a month so I won't be starving any more than I need to beat this darn test.
Mthoery randomly started following me the day after seven stock and I had a nice conversation about Hotwheels with him, this was after I decided to buy the kit.
My 7 is my daily driver, it's not my weekend car or toy, it's my mode of transportation. Frankly, the steering is great ( or at least I'm ustu it), but I plan on making this my forever car for a multitude of reasons ( iIhate blind consumerism, it really hurts me inside seeing good machines and working items get junked ) which is kind of hypocritical because my steering works just fine, but i also have to face the fact that my steering will eventually wear out and reparing my steering box is going to cost me a pretty penny and most importantly time I won't have.

You can add my name to the "Me Too" group who want to save up and buy MTheory's Rack & Pinion System. Right now with the cost price increase + US / CAD exchange rates + import duty, taxes, and shipping .. this rack & pinion system costs more than most used 1st gen RX7s.
Maybe I can work out some sort of barter system with MTheory .. in exchange for some Canadian Maple Syrup or Back Bacon?

This looks like the answer to most people's dreams about a tight steering SB.
However, having rallied two different Rx-7's, one an 86 with manual R&P and an 81 with recirculating ball the lack of the sharp hand numbing feedback through the steering wheel over rough dirt terrain made me prefer the 81 by far.
Not a reason to keep the old rb setup, for most, just an observation, I'm pretty sure if I would have had ps on the 86 it would have helped to take out some of that hard feedback.
However, having rallied two different Rx-7's, one an 86 with manual R&P and an 81 with recirculating ball the lack of the sharp hand numbing feedback through the steering wheel over rough dirt terrain made me prefer the 81 by far.
Not a reason to keep the old rb setup, for most, just an observation, I'm pretty sure if I would have had ps on the 86 it would have helped to take out some of that hard feedback.

Almost certainly the case. I believe the shocks are original to the car, and are so 41 years / 160k old! New shocks are next project.

I drove my RX7 almost daily In the 2 1/2 months after the installation of Scott's kit to get a feel for how my car handles with the rack & pinion kit vice the steering box, and it took some getting used to. I have yet to experience any violent "kickback" through the steering wheel under any road conditions or at any speeds (and Scott is right about the shitty roads here in Indy). I did need to learn the input/response relationship that the kit delivers as opposed to the "constant input" the old steering box required. I was pleased to find that a lighter grip is necessary on the steering wheel, and the instant response the kit provides truly put the fun back in driving my 7. The larger footprint of the rack mount points where the steering box and idler arm were bolted adds additional feedback via the frame and really gives the feeling of the “whole” car responding to the steering inputs. I’m just sorry I had to put her up for the winter but am looking forward to Spring for sure.

when I do buy this kit I want a quicker ratio. 4 turns lock to lock seems like a lot. I know of the quaff quick ratio rack gears but I don't want to spend more than I have to. Does anyone know if it's possible to swap just the rack gear and pinion from a powered rack into a manual rack housing from this kit?

Feedback after a few months of MTheory kit use.
- Drove a regular steerer box RX7 yesterday.... felt really really sloppy after my MTheory converted car, I had forgotten how much you feel the floaty spot when straight ahead. Maybe the box just needed tightening up, but the difference between the original and converted cars side by side was enormous. Getting back into my car felt like driving a gokart.
- Early on after converting the car, I had an issue with kick through the steering wheel on potholes and curb cuts (eg entering gas station). Replaced front wheel bearings and ball joints... kick went away.
Very happy customer.

Wow this is awesome! I was going to design the same thing, I wanted to keep the rear steer and stock steering geometry but thankfully MTheory has beaten me to it.
