Motor is stock with Racing Beat streetport exhaust. Modded Nikki carb done by myself, direct fire ignition MSD 6A plus 3 MSD coils..... lots of love!
Mods to come this year will be caster/camber plates, completely rebuilt front end, more lightening of the car.
Next year, coil overs, very lightweight flywheel and lightweight clutch, maybe Megasquirt fuel injection with Fuji ITB's....(still trying to figure out if I want to go Fuel Injection, Weber sidedraft, or just stay with the Nikki) She runs so great with the Nikki!!

man.. when i added this weber side draft with the lake city intake it was like bolting on gold. freed up alot of space, easier to work with, really responsive with fat midrange power... plus it pulls hard all the way to 8 if i need it. im pretty much in love with this carb setup. the exhaust is a little loud for my taste on long highway runs but around town its very deep and throaty. we need to meet up sometime soon so i can check out ur cars. im off from thurs to next thurs

I know I know... like I said... I have done as much as I can "on cheap"...
I really need Camber plates now because I am only at about -1 degree right now.
Sometimes I am coming on the side of the tire too much.... I think additional negative camber will help a lot!! Running higher front tire pressures have helped!!

I compensated by raising tire pressure from 38 to 40. This helped a lot.

Jim, I don't know why, but the combination of sliver paint, dark interior, really low suspension, small wheels, and that white helmet makes your grape look ginormous in there... It's like the Great Gazoo stole your car or something!
Beautiful shots, sir.

Good looking car. Glad to see someone is trying to competitively race an FB in CSP. If you don't mind me asking though, how are you in street prepared without a passenger seat? SP requires a FULL interior.

You really need to look at the Respeed front swaybar too. Since I added that, I don't need nearly as much negative camber as I did with the RB bar on there. I just don't have any roll anymore, so no need for drastic camber.
Can't see the pics right now, but I'll check them out when I get home. Good to see you continuing to eat the Miatas too (among many other noteables), you keep me from feeling so lonely! lol

AHA..... good observation my friend. If you also notice my car says ITA on it. It is an SCCA ITA club racing car also. SCCA rules stipulate that an ITA car can compete in CSP class in autocross!!

I may end up doing the caster/camber plates and a new alignment and call it a day.
I REALLY wanted to keep with the theme of "project cheap autocrosser". I kinda broke the budget with the Panasports and Hoosiers. Those cost me $1600 which is WAY more than I have in the rest of the car!!!
I would say as she sits, I have about $3000 in the whole car.
I really am enjoying this autocrossing, so I will be looking into building another car in the future that will be competitive. Prolly something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBVVssJwx2Y turbo rotary bug eye sprite!!
But i will always keep project cheap autocrosser to have as a play car and one to train other people in!!
