Update RECOVERED ****
Ok guys,
Update time.
The car was recovered on Wednesday (9th). The thieves did about 80km (50 miles) on my car (I know because I checked the trip oddo).
It was located at Regency Park, right near the corner of Churchill Rd and Regency Road. The actual location was at the Toll Express carpark, off Pedder Crescent. This is about 20km (12miles) from where it got stolen.
Here's where it gets ugly.
I'll start off with the condition. Kinda Burnt. Once dumping my car, they tried to set it on fire. The drivers seat is all burnt, roof lining, pillar trim, and half of the back seat are all kinda black/suffering fire damage. An employee of Toll (because they work shifts and are truckies, btw, this is a transport company, like fedex) saw it and put it out before it took full hold.
All my tyres are bald. The drivers door barrel has been completely taken off, the wiring to my alarm cut and my trim around my steering column destroyed. I have about 80 wires underneath near the pedals just sitting loose and yanked out everywhere (from their hotwire job). That is a mess.
Strangly enough, my rims are ok, my sub/amp/stacker is fine. This is where it gets weird. They took my Pioneer head unit but replaced it with a more modern one (wtf?) and left some cds in there.
Later on that day (It was discoverd at 3am weds) I got it towed down to an RAA (my insurance co) holding yard, where it still sits waiting for the assesor to see if he will repair or cut me a cheque.
I'm assuming my motor is shagged, as well as the clutch and gearbox. I obviously don't know yet.
Speaking to the guy who put out the fire on the same day, he told me that it had a Suburu Liberty plates on it (stolen), and after they dumped my car, they stolen stuff out of a nearby Commodore (Holden, GMH, like a pontiac), then stole another v8 Commodore from the toll yard!!!
So They would've done a drive by with my car at a petrol station, no doubt. Joyrided it, dumped it, set fire, and stolen the v8 and booted. ********.
Quoting Jack Johnson - "Where'd all the good people go?"
I'm going down today to take snaps of the car, and will post here after.
Thanks all for the support.
It's a real mess and has screwed me up but now I need to follow the steps to either get her back up or get a new one. I'm not going to let the bastards win.

Glad to hear that you got her back. It's too back that they destroyed her though. It really sucks that there are people out there that have so little disregard for other people's property. Did they catch the guys that did it? I hope they do.
Good luck man. I hope everything works out for you.

well from the sounds of it they were quite drunk and stupid.
Make sure the new pioneer modern one you have isn't stolen. You could get hit up with possesion of stolen property, and that also goes with anything else they left in there.

No, they havn't catched them and I doubt they will. As for the stolen property, the police know all about it as well as the Insurance Company.
Thanks for all your help anyways guys. I must admit I pretty much did all but cry when I found her!
With the money I get from a write-off (if it will be one) I think I'm going to purchase a series 5 turbo Rx7. Then I'm going to buy my FB shell and rebuild her at my own pace. I'm not going to let her go to the scrap heap.

lucky you that you have a full coverage insurance on a 20+ yr FB. Majority of the guys I know only have a liability per vehicle code.

My cousins friend in Oregon had his S5 T2 stolen, and when recovered it had race seats, harnesses, a newer stereo in it, was lowerd, and no longer had stock wheels along with some other stuff. The thieves got pulled over in it for speeding, and when they ran the plates, they didnt match the car, so they checked the VIN and it was the stolen T2. They impounded the car, and they held it for a week or something like that, but none of the extra stuff was claimed, so he got to keep it all.
Anyway, Im really glad to hear you got it back. I would say that its good that you got it back in as good of shape as you did. You may not agree, but coming from someone who got theirs back an empty shell inside and in the engine bay with broken windows, I would consider myself lucky to get that much back, especially if its mostly interior parts that need changing/replacing. Unlike the high dollar stuff you couldve had to replace like your Weber setup, full RB exhaust, fuel system, stereo, etc. Not that Im bitter though. I ******* hate thieves.

truth always, somehow has a way of prevailing. You may not get a chance to witness or see it occur but it does and will. They will get what they have coming. Off topic i saw Jack johnson in concert. Hes not right though, there are good people on this forum.
As for the 7, it is IMO rebuildable.
