The Mazda RX-7 Returns!? Could this be the NEW model? Let's hear your take.

No it won't be. There is no new RX-7 coming until Mazda confirms it themselves. The Magazines can spit out all of the bullcrap they want but it's all just rumor and speculation. I personally would love to see a new RX-7 based on the current MX-5 platform as a 2 seater coupe with current Renesis in it. Just a nice entry level sportscar. Then they can have the RX-8 with the 16X in it and then an RX-9 super car with an MSP 3-Rotor.

They should never come out with a new RX-7. The 3rd gen is the best it ever got. Sex on wheels, powerful, and a hell of a track car, even stock. If they brought this "thing" out and called it the new RX-7, I'll buy a honda.

Keep the RX-8 (as stated with the 16x. Uprate interior and discontinue rear suicide doors to continue to compete with G37)
Make an MX5-RE (Renesis powered Miata, revised looks, coupe form; s2000/z4 ect figher)
Make an RX-10 (Road legal production version of the Furai, change as little as possible. Compete with R35 and new NSX. Power to weight ratio would put make it superior)
I would seriously <3 Mazda if they did something like this.

Firebirdslayer666 makes a good point. With all the rumors of the return of the RX-7 I see a real possibility with the Dodge precedent. I see a significant number of new-model Chargers on the roads here in muscle car crazy SoCal.
The Return of the Dodge Charger R/T
While it is arguably one of the biggest deviations from the original Charger, in 2006 Dodge debuted the new Dodge Charger and at long last the Charger R/T was available again to the public. While the Charger existed in various forms from 1980-1987, there had not been a rear-wheel-drive Charger sold since 1978 and Charger R/Ts since 1971. However, the rumors twirling around the possible release of a new Charger were confirmed when the 2006 Dodge Charger was introduced.
