Agreed.

Quick recommendation:

Cover the open spots on the distributor with caps.
EDIT: I got on my desktop PC (larger monitor) and just noticed they had cork plugs.

Also, try to align the plug cables so they don't cross each other much, and
if they do have to cross, keep the angles perpendicular instead of parallel.

Or use cable separators if you have any handy in that size.

These are fantastic. I got some back when I still had stock ignition. Improved my idle and mileage too. The best part though is that I had one go bad this past year. Called them up and I had another at my door in a couple of days. Can't beat that.

WOW! what big wires u have. but seriously what r they, like 10mm? since it's a waste spark i guess u could swap the wires at the coil to eliminate the wires crossing?

Thanks guys, yeah I was kind of looking for an excuse to show off the engine bay too, so I thought I'd put the new wires in and snap a few pics. Those are the 10 mm (1 cm) Magnecors, precut to size and available for a modest fee from Mazdatrix (I think I paid about $75 a year ago for them).

The biggest difference is in fact looks, they are just super cool looking. I doubt the things ever skip spark, they have so much insulation (10 mm pure silicon) spark can't jump like it can lighter cables. So there’s no need for cable tie downs and avoiding contact, parallel or perpendicular . You just hook them up and make them look cool, they have enough substance to find their own path.

Those lab corks look pretty cool too, don't you think? Way more classy than those chincy plastic caps.

Another advantage of the 10 mm Magnecors over stock wires is that they seem to last forever, this set replaces the set I've been using for the last ten years (about 200,000 miles). The old set still works fine and looks good, but the cool lettering is starting to fade from my excessive engine bay washing habits.

So I figured I might as well install the new set now and get some miles out of them. Yep Michael, looks like mines bigger than yours. But you can have my old set if you are looking for a little enhancement, just pm your address.
