Removable section in the "rear" housing. the clear parts are plastic, not glass, with the two housings bolted together. Also, the housings are no good. They look awesome just because of the polish job on them. Took like 5 hours.

ive had that idea for a while except i want to use 2-3 housings with rotors and a eccentric shaft in the water. Of course, theyd have to be coated with something though.

Assemble with fish safe silicone sealant and bolts. Go with 3+ rotor housings for depth. Sealing the intake/exhaust ports will be the hard part. Perhaps make bolt on cover plates would be the easiest. One can use a hole saw to drill access from the top. I'd have the housings hot tanked at the local machine shop, the sand blast and power wash them.
You could use stock outer coolant seals instead of the silicone, no need for inner coolant seals. 1/4" aquarium acrylic for the ends.
