I'm Back!
So I figured I should write up a little thread on what I have been upto this past couple months and what's going to be happening.
As you guys may or may not have known, I just got back from a summer of traveling around the world. Went to Cozumel, Mexico in June for a couple of weeks o a SCUBA Diving trip. After getting back for two days I ran off to Helsingbor, Sweeden to visit my Romanian Grandparents ( for being 100% vampire on both sides of teh family for 4 generations! ) and work for the six weeks I was there at a family friend's mechanic shop.
Bibac MotorSports of Sweeden! The owner, Mr. Bibac himself (I called him 'Chefu' or boss in Romanian most of the time since that's what our family nicknamed him.) worked on the Ferrari Racing Team of Romania as an Engineer, he also has two degrees from Romania in Automotive Engineering. Great guy, I love working with him and his mechanic!
Oh here's some pictures:
(Sorry I had only my RAZR V3xx to take pictures with so the quality is pretty shitty. But if you look in the second picture on the bottom row close to the right; that guy in the red and blue jacket? That's my Grandfather when he worked with Bibac in his shop for 15+ years. Go Granpappy! Rock that Horse!)
Anyways, I ended up working on mostly BMW, Audi, and Mercedes wagons and sedans. An M5, Audi RS4 Wagon and such, we also had a few Alfa Romeos, Skodas (norwegien brand), Renualts, Mistubishi, and a C5 Corrvette from Ohio that we converted to Euro-Spec (poor bastard got a horrible deal since it was an Automatic and stank like fat ***, but still fun to drive around the parking lot with the windows rolled down!)
I even did a valve adjustment ona turbo desiel Mistubishi truck, damn this was hard as hell to do since the intercooler frame was in the way and made measuring valve clearance a PITA. Made me miss my Rotary so much!
So after spending time with my family I got to do the wonderful 500 meter dash in under 20 minutes to get to my plane.
Let me explain, we took the earliest ferry accross the channel from Helsingbor to Helsingnor which was at 05:30. The earliest train to Copenhagen International Airport was at 06:30 and takes about and hour and a half to get there. The train stopped somewhere in the middle of nowhere for a good 40 minutes which made getting to the airport before 08:00 impossible.
So here I am at 08:10 trying to find the check-in only to find out 15 minutes later that they close one hour before the flight (my flight is at 09:06). The lady at the Continental counter tells me that I can't make my flight, so I ask for the next one. They don't fly any other flights that day... yes that was the only flight that day! They said they would put me on stand-by and let me try to catch the plane, at this point I had only about 20 minutes to get through security, passport control, and then run through the airport to my gate with a 50lbs backpack full of electrical junk and magazines; oh joy. I barely made it and I swear to god I felt my arm go numb and the onset of heart attack when I sat down and I'm only 19!
Well needless to say I made it home in reletively one piece and now I am just waiting on a shipment from Billy. I ordered that wonderful RE-Speed Poly-Urethane Bushing Kit so I can replace the rotting bushings in my '82 when I swap the suspension over to the '84 GSL-SE body I got from a fourm member in Fremont. (BTW Thanks a ton you guys!)
You remember, the one that was wrecked? (See this thread if you don't: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=It%27s+Dead...)
I am going to hunt down an S4 or S5 13B later this week to drop in to the car to replace my reliable, yet old 12A. (250k miles almost on the engine and it's never been rebuilt. Damn thing still runs like a champ!) I will be taking pictures and will write-up a nice thread for you guys to see me dicking around with the two cars to rebuild it into one.
Oh, and I got myself addicted to that World of Warcraft Game. (Laugh if you want)
Well that's about the gist of it... Sorry to waste your life by having you guys read this!
