Dammit David. . . get to it you lazy bastard. I want to see progress.

All I see is a bunch of unorganized parts on a garage floor.

David, I need to buy a new DD. My old DD Wankeled. I'm looking at a 2002 SL1 5sp. It will set me back $2,000-$2,500, and three months.

In the meantime, I'll be mocking the engine into the engine bay and seeing if the stock turbo and manifold fit well (so I can just get a hybrid turbo), locating the trans to engine bolts, and a number of other things.

Start cleaning the engine bay and that motor, it's FILTHY! Oh, and get this bitch up and running before the next Kan session in St.Louis and trailer it down here. That is if there is going to be any more sessions, I think the last one was it.

Good luck David. I look forward to seeing the progress, and I have subscribed.

Thats funny, I've got a 01 SL1. Automatic though. . . You'll be happy to know I can pull up to 37mpg with it. You should top that easy with a 5-speed.

I recommend getting a intake of sorts. . . I choose to get a AEM tube and K&N cone filter. That bumped the gas mileage and power a very noticeable amount. They are however incredibly and dreadfully slow. . . of course you know about that already given what you were already driving.

Good luck with your mockups.

i hope you are going to clean and rebuild that engine before you put it in...it would be sad to do all that work and have the motor still looking like that.

Why would I rebuild it? It's already been rebuilt.

As my money is currently depleted, I've made my mind up on a few things.

The turbo will be BnR stage three, and I've chosen the Megasquirt II for my ECU. From my research, it will be plenty and controls my fuel and ignition systems.

Just a little update: nothing is happening. Current economic status and unforeseen events have halted project.

I will be getting a chrome rotor shaped exhaust tip, though.
