Absolutely going to pull these apart. From the other pics they have some light curb rash and are pretty dirty. Even though my cars paint is far from perfect I still can't stand to pay this much for wheels and stick them on there looking anything but brand new. I have a few color ideas kicking around in my head. Idea number one is red center a la: http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6166/6...daef3628_z.jpg with the BBS nut remaining polished and with red or black hardware. The solid area in between the mesh on the center cap would be painted black to give it that spokes to the BBS nut look.
Another idea is black center with red hardware. Might also do both, so the two wheels on the left side would be red centered with black bolts and the two on right would be black centered with red bolts. That way I get both looks, but you can only see one from each side.
If you check out my cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2322069/1984-mazda-rx-7 you'll see why red is such a big color for me. My car is sunbeam silver, so I want something that will stand out, but also be different from other first gens. A lot of people would say leave them silver, or paint them black or gold, but I've wanted to try red for a while just so the car can stand out a bit. One of the reasons I wanted to ditch the Rota RB's is because they are so popular for our cars. Meshies are too, but these look a little more classy than the RB/Pana/Minilite wheel. The size is simply because finding the right width, offset and look in a 15 was proving difficult. I inquired with another used wheel seller about an identical set of wheels but they had been sold, stumbled on these while googling and decided to have a go.

Sin City Rotary
dumb question but how do you find out the torque spec to reassemble?? I'd like to take my wheels apart to better polish them up but having an issue while driving to me is not an option

A few questions for the guys who have already installed the RE-SPEED TII big brake kit (5-lug) on a non-GSLSE FB. This is along the same lines of this discussion, so I'll ask here first...
What effective offsets have you found will or have worked after the big brake install?
I'm looking at:
Either 16" or 17"
FRONT - 7" / 7.5" wheels
REAR - 8" / 9" wheels
As a note, my FB has Ground Control coil-over set-up.
Thanks guys!

Get 16's. My 944 has 15's and there is very little tires left in 225. I dont want to get rid of them being that they weigh 10lbs15in cookie cutters here ] (Aluminium lug nuts too they were serious about unsprung weight) but I need wider tires so they have too go. 16 and 17.

My name is Gino, lol
The specs are 16x9+15 with 195/50/16 tires. i am now switching to 195/45/16 on the same wheels. no spacers. they poked about 3/4" in the rear, but they sat fine up front with camber. i'm now taking care of the rear problem by metal flaring the back about an inch.
definitely not an easy set to pull off and if it wasn't sitting as low as it is then it would look weird

What is your suspension set-up Gino, if you don't mind?

Well my wheels have finally arrived and they are in what can only be described as "used" condition. Two have some pretty bad curb rash, the other two aren't nearly as bad which leads me to believe there is at least one person in Japan that does not know how to parallel park. Looks like I may need a new lip or two, but I'll see if it's cheaper to have a wheel shop clean them up. I can imagine it wouldn't be since there will likely be some welding involved. The beauty of 3-piece wheels is there are options. Will definitely need new bolts, which are about $45....PER WHEEL. Wow! Pay to play I guess. A quick test fit on the car shows that they fit damn near perfectly up front. Can't test fit the rear since it's still 4-bolt, but I already had a 15x8 +20 on there with lots of room. They are pretty dirty but the faces look to be in good shape, they have all the caps, and all the centers go on and off easily.
