The origonal seats are going back in the Limited . I'd like to keep the interior on that car as it was designed .
I would likley be interested in new fabric for them . I was thinking the same thing as you suggested .... let me know . They are an odd colour to match though . Could be tough to do . Kind of a bluey -grey tone

Yes, I know what they are. I've found a place that is supposed to be able to match just about any auto fabric ever made. I won't be able to get any samples untill next summer sometime. Then it's just a matter of getting some quality reproductions made off the original covers as a pattern. I'd like to get a few pairs made, might be slightly more affordable that way. I will keep you in mind.

Well , here is a little update on the fate of the aurora white 79 ( Barney) . The car is going to be saved , but is going to be a project where there are no rules . I am pumped about building a '79 with a little bit of many other 7's in and a little bit of custom things too.
Most of the changes should happen over the winter and spring if all goes well.
Heres a few of the current plans:
Repaint Brilliant Black
Black '79 interior Swap
Re-Speed suspension / CO
Konig Rewind 15" rims
Raised white letter BFG TA tires
Chrome Front and Rear '80 bumpers ( Yes, I actually have these ! )
Series 4 FC leather seats , dark grey and two tone black grey door panels
new sound system
Series 5 FC Turbo II with polished FD UIM, stock SA Tranny
Series 3 GSL rear end
Full emissions equipment in place
FMIC with polished piping
Replace all Bushings
Kerebus SA Short Shifter
30% tint all around
Keyless locks
Modified IMSA short spoiler
Aussie Chrome tag lights
Glass moonroof
The shell is essentially rust free for a Northern car and too good to not rebuild. The interior has POR15 throughout.
The biggest decision ??? ... do I save the early '79 right side prop rod for the hood

If you aren't interested in Saving the early hood i am interested in buying it for an early car i have with a bad hood. I am glad you are saving her though and am sure that she will be sweet when done.
Banzai what happend with your idea for the LE seat covers??? If you are still on for this let me know I need 2 sets and then some material

Yes, Dave I am. But like yourself, I'm in the land of MRAPS for awhile longer. I have a lead on a place that's supposed to have a very extensive selection of auto fabric. Since I don't currently have access to any samples to send, I'm not 100% sure they have the correct cloth. I hope to find out later this year. I will keep you in the loop with what I find.

yea let me know as well later in the year on the LIMITED seat and panel fabric.
So, here are a few shots of the bumpers I have going on the car. They both had to be rebuilt from new and used parts . The Front was a random find on Ebay out of Pennsylvania $100. This got me thinking , this car is still a "70's" car and chrome bumpers might be sweet . My first car in high school was a '72 Nova ( yes I am that old) . So I found a good SA rear bumper ( turns out to be an '80 with bumper stop) and had it plated in Winnipeg for $200. They did an amzing job . It is perfectly smooth.
I bought some used shocks and painted them and new bumper strips from Mazda, and if anyone hasn't seen what they look like , heres a couple shots of them.
The last pic are the Chrome Tag lights going on the car that were provided for exchange of a NHL hockey puck from WAS 12A on the forum.

The car is going to get the Konig Rewind 15" I bought last year $400 .
The tires going on are BF Goodrich Traction TA 195/60's which have a wider stance than other 205 tires and keeps the speedo right . You really have to look at the tire specs to see how tread widths actually vary between manufacturers for the same numbers. The white lettering look I want for the tires was hard to find in the tires I wanted so I painted the outlines with a Harley Davidson tire paint stick. Its pretty easy to do over a few beers . I expect it will need touching up every year at least , but lots of time to do this over winnipeg winters
I got Rotor center cap decals from Greece to go over the Konig caps (Only of thursday told me about these ) . Some Mazda mudflaps from Phils Rotary in Australia that may go on the back , not sure.

This is the small fiberglass spoiler that will be pained black and is going on . It was bought from Fazz on the forum . I never put it on the LIMITED as intially planned . It is similar to the IMSA but smaller and without the long pieces extending up towards the quarter glass . These pics show it just held on. The fit is a little better than it shows because the antenna has to be removed and a small semi circle cut out of the spoiler where the antenna mast sits. Mounts with 3 threaded bolts that will go through the rear hatch area and into nuts that are imbedded in the fiberglass in the bottom of the spoiler
