just get a 84-85 GSL rear and then you don't have to change pattern.

The GSL rear is actually stronger than the GSL-SE's in terms of the LSD.

So the GSL bolt pattern is 4x110 too?

GSL-SE = 4x114.3?

No worries about the question, we were (and still are) all learning things.

Yup, what's already been said is correct. That is exactly what I did with my 85 GS, love it...

Yes, I believe I saw some 110mm to 114mm adaptors on the ************* web site. From the pictures they didn't look to complicated.

I saw mention that the bolt pattern is 114.5? Is that exact? I saw some rims for sale that are 114.3. Are those meaning the same size? or are 114.3 and 114.5 2 different bolt patterns?

Forgot to add: I thought the LSD rear ends that are 110mm have the male lug nuts, while the 114.3? 114.5? have the female lug nuts. Is that correct?

4x114.3 is actually an SAE size, 4x4.5. I believe that both the GSL and GSL-SE use lug bolts.

It was probably a typo, it is 114.3mm. And yes the S/GS/GSL rear ends all use lug bolts, where the SE (114.3) rear uses more traditional lug studs and nuts.

Nothing wrong with the 12A rims. I like them too. Also, yes, 114.3mm=4.5"
