205/60-13 Sumitomo HTR 200
Need to replace my no name 185/75's eventually, or very soon.
I've been looking for a while for good 13" tire which seems hard in these days of 17, 18, & 22's.
Anyway found these 205/60's for $48's. Good on the factory rim ??
Don't buy them all. I need 4 after I get my carb on.

You won't find too many people that will steer you away from the HTR200. Kentetsu has slaughtered race rubbered Miata's with those. I ran them until I had the money for bigger and better. Great tires never mind the price, that just makes the deal sweeter.

Yeah, I searched everywhere for them, and even ran across that "demo" site. I ended up buying a set of skinny wheels and putting cheapo donuts on them. The Revolutions (8" wide) got the race rubber.
The HTR200 is a great tire for the money. However, I've learned that they do not run well at the end of their life span (they get extremely squirrelly and unpredictable). You can race them right down to the wires (I've won races with them in that condition), but don't try to drive them on the street once their down to the wear bars...

Hope I didn't cause any trouble. Tried to edit my post but can't I guess.
Maybe a MOD can remove that link.
I did find a set of Cooper Cobra's locally @ over $100 a tire mounted .

balanced. Also, they are no longer in production in 205/60R13 anymore either.
I scuffed one real bad last winter and tried to buy a new one and found this out.
Luckily I had bought 5 and had the spare swapped for the scuffed tire.
As a tire they kind of suck and aren't speed rated very high. They also tend to
wobble over 80 mph and break loose with very little warning and squeel like the
guy in the movie deliverance too.
Hey, but they have RWL and thats what I was after.

Retailers think I'm an idiot when I ask for this size & they all say no. Kinda got us by the *****.
I probably will buy them as I'll need them for inspection & they're the only set around I found. I'll try & negotiate the price. ($112 mounted & balanced)
Otherwise I'll have to get something shipped & still pay that price all said & done.

this is the brand i got off the tires-easy site. not the best handling tire but does have a long tread life.

They don't make these anymore? DAMN! My set of Sumitomo HTR200s are right at the end of their life (car's been in rebuild at a body shop for two seasons)... I'm going to have to find something to replace these.
Maybe now's the time to get those 14" LE rims refinished, might be easier to find tires for those.

13 inch tires are hard to find. But after 14 inch market rims look like they are all flash and will cause a crash.
Has anyone had an after market rim/wheel failure??
Federal Fd1 FORMOZA ALL SEASON 205/60 r13 look like the best tire out there for all round use. Sumitomo's are highly regarded here, but are hard to find. NEXEN??? Good price, but does anyone have an opinion?? Toyo's are more for racing, great grip, poor mileage.
Any one care to weigh in? Should I open my choices up with 14 in rims, buy the Federal's or gamble and get the lower priced Nexen's?????

should of gotten the sumitomo 175's....I just put on the Kumho kr21 185's, and they don't hold a candle to my 7 year old cracked sumitomo 205's.
Kumho's break loose on a panic stop at 40 mph where the sumitomos held fast and didn't schreeeeeech!!! Also the Kumho's peel out when taking off where the sumitomo's didn't.
No doubt I will get a summons from Kumho Tire Company for slander, but this is just my impressions and this wasn't a scientific test.
maybe tires need to be broken in???? Anyway, I say sumitomo is way better.
Now I'll really have to drive like a geriatric old lady.

I just spent 2 days on the internet looking for 205/60/14s. They're hard to find. Bought a set of cp641 Nexens. They are on ebay and they have a shop in california. I called them up to be sure they are real. I ordered 4 for for $275 + $89 shipping. Could have saved 7 bucks on ebay. owell.
The reviews on these tires were pretty good. Beggers can't be choosers. Also I ask for a date code. Over a year old, not too bad for a discontinued size.
By the time I need new tires that size will be history except for real chinese junk which is probably what I just bought. Got em a Tire Dealers, Buy Cheap Tires, Discount Tires, Falken, Yokohama, Pirelli, Federal, Nexen, Kumho, Nexen, Hercules, Nankang, Toyo, Tires Online

500 mile break in
I spoke to soon. Turns out that all tires are slippery when new. It is from the silicon spray used to make sure the tire can be removed from the mold. Anyway it is a good thing that I tried stupid *** **** in a safe area and found out that I need to drive with extreme caution for the 500 miles.l
