1979 series 1 rx7 summershot gt
hi guys i picked up this car a few months ago for parts but realised that it is one of a small number of its kind left. if anyone has any info on how much it would be worth please tell me. ps. it has the original engine which runs needs fresh paint and has a bit of rust but would be an awesome project.

Way to go RXEVN! Thanks for coming through with pics. How interesting! Would love to see more over time. I couldn't find any historical note about the Summershot GT anywhere on the net. Wonder what others might know about Mazda's rational for what was apparently a very short run of special editions?
The racing stripe on the seat looks good. From the limited perspective in the picturew that seat appears to be in decent shape. Kudos to you on saving this sleeping beauty.

RXEVN - There are several interesting pictures of 79-80 Japanese version GTs in this montage of SA22's that gathered for a meet in Japan last year. None were Summer Shot as far as I could tell. I'll continue to search for historical facts and get back with you if I uncover anything.

it is a japanese import with all the japanese stickers and plates. the summershot badge is out of the 1979 special editions range. i found one website about the summershot but it is in japanese.
