I have probably missed a great many things in this post (especially since I am now more confused than when I hit the search button), but it seems to me the ideal setup would be 2x 2bbl carbs ( DHLA or DCOE style) with one bore tuned for low range and one tuned for high end (i.e. a smaller venturi or longer stack on say... the rear bore on each carb) and run this setup on completely isolated manifolds (high and high linked and low and low linked to reduce pulse)

Just a thought...

That would be awesome, only then you would run into intake manifold engineering and it could most likely only be for your car. I say, try it out and give us some before and after dyno numbers.

This topic reminds me of conversation I had about 11 years ago regarding the performance of my 83' Rx7 full bridgeport with a Holley 650 double pumper..... I can't remember the specifics but I ran this car for three years with the Holley 650. This Rx7 was very fast(much faster than the local Rx7s with the Weber set up), and ran very smooth, hardly ever bogged and never flooded(except during winter very unreliable). It did have to be retuned a few times.
