Ganador/Feed Mirror Q&A
Figured I'd start this thread, I tried looking back at old ones but i couldn't really get a straight answer on anything.
I bought a new set of these mirrors mainly for cosmetic's, I can see just find out of the stock FD ones, but they're kind ugly. look like giant ears.
I have read about the visibility sucking hard out of the ganador's because the mirror motorlinkage is set up for RHD drive cars. I have not fitted mine yet, they are still waiting for paint.
Does anyone have any knowledge on how to take these badboys apart to swap the linkage or if it's even necessary anymore ? the threads i found were 3-5 years old concerning them.
I appreciate all the help,
Scott

I msged Bryan and he got back to me. Basically "as is", out of the box only your driver side will you really be able to see anything out of. the passenger side is worthless, he doesn't know about taking the mirrors apart or anything and referred me to contacting ganador directly... i'll try to shoot them an email tonight or tomorrow and follow back up

^ Ganador mirror sets are made for RHD so on a LHD they can't be adjusted for a proper view. OP is thinking about opening up a set to check out the motor linkage. Now we wait for replies on the topic

I think it is important to note that this is NOT the case for all RHD mirrors, I have a set of re-amemiya mirrors and can see out of both sides fine. This is only for the ganador mirrors, probably because they sit so close to the a-pillar.

It may be beneficial to those interested in the mirrors to hear from people who actually have the Ganadors. The Ganadors probably bolt onto the the two screw holes in the door, using bolt threads imbedded in the base of each mirror. The curvature of the mounting base has to be perfectly flush against the curvature of the door, otherwise the mirrors will just look terrible. Furthermore, unless they can be made to also bolt through the a-pillar "triangle," there may not be enough be support to prevent people from walking into the mirrors and dislodging them from the door.
I've had a total of 4 sets of mirrors on my FD, and I settled on the new version Craftsquare mirrors with metal a-pillar mounts due to people knocking off (stealing?) my mirrors in the past. (I have pics of the Craftsquares in the new 3rd gen pic thread.)
I'm not knocking the Ganadors if they're people's preference, just sharing my experiences.

I have the Ganador mirrors and I have them adjusted full lock to the left on both sides. I can see out of the driver's side OK I guess (I'd still rather it were over a bit more but it gets the job done) but the passenger side I have to lean to the right a bit to see the side of the car. They're OK but not passable for some people. And now my passenger mirror feels like it's about to fall out, like the adhesive is eroding or something. I've been thinking about getting some APC mirrors, I might just do that still. My only problem with those is that they'd be so easy to steal.
FWIW, I love the look of these mirrors, but they don't offer the absolute best vision for a LHD car. They do bolt into the stock mirror position and they do plug into the harness so you can move them with the stock mirror control. You do still need the little plastic triangle in the corner of the window though, to mount the mirror against. It doesn't replace that piece completely.

No problem. I still like these mirrors, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying they don't have perfect vision. I've never sat in the passenger seat to check hahaha. I'll let you know.
