99 spec taillight conversion
hi,
i am currently doing 99 spec taillight conversions for $50 a pair. turnaround time is one day but i need them overnight and about until 10 the next day because i spray and let dry overnight before heating up so paint doesnt bubble. i have all the equiptment ready and have the circles pre-cut. i have done my taillights on one of my rx7's. also, i have done one for Steve (tiresmokin7) and he was very happy with my work. i am located in glendale where the 5 meets the 134. i am about 10 minutes from LA and you can drop off to avoid paying shipping but i still accept shipped lights.
i will get some pics up of my car and if you pm steve, im sure he has some pics.
please pm me or reply to this post.

That’s funny, I had to practically beg you to do mine after I saw yours and now your advertising! I would be happy to send 1600x1200 pics to who ever would like them and will post 800x600 pics here. I can take the close ups tomorrow during the daylight to show off his talents. I have to say that not only am I happy about how my tail lights turned out but also in the handling as well. Even though he owns a few third gens he treats the parts with care. Roman is a perfectionist and a pleasure to deal with.

As you can see the lines along the edge are sharp and crisp. No fuzzy edges. Just clean perfect circles. The way it should be. The seals were reset so I don’t get condensation build up inside the lens. All and all I couldn’t be happier.

Nice picture, BTW. Mine were done by Ryan Wolfe and look great also, but unfortunately the tail lights themselves weren't in the best condition. I bought a genuine set of '96-spec tail lights (this was 1997... '99-spec anything hadn't made an appearance yet) and gave my new '95 lights to a friend for letting me use his garage to work on my car. I took his high mileage, high scratch '93 lights in exchange, never thinking that I'd end up using them. I sold the '96-spec lights when I bought an RE Amemiya tail light "finishing cover", since there was no point in having circular lights when the tail cover had circular holes. The '93 lights didn't matter then, because they were almost completely covered, however... I didn't like the finishing cover, sold it, and was stuck with '93 lights that had some pretty good scratches and haze. I bought some plastic buffing compound and gave them a good once over (make that twice over) on the buffing wheel, but they still suck on what is otherwise basically a new car, so... since the genuine lights are only $425 these days (I paid $650 for mine in '97), I think I'm going to just do that instead of buying a new set of "95" lights and having them converted. Again. And that's more than you every wanted to know about my tail lights.

Nice story jim, I had ryan wolfe do my tail lights on my last 3d gen and they turned out perfect and I had them back in 4 days.
So naturally I sent him mine again when I got my new car. It took him about 2 1/2 weeks to get them back to me this time however and the next day I went out and they were filled with water So I had to send them back again last monday and im waiting for them again...didnt work out as well as I planned
Im borrowing a friends set of stock lights and I really like how they look stock too. Its a little outdated looking but I still like it
