Update Juin 5th 2011.
I have driven 3820Km ( 2373 miles ) since the new motor is in with "0" issue what so ever.
The car is a blast to drive.
Today I did a round trip to Quebec city ( around 600Km ) and I've decided to check the fuel consumption ( Hwy and City ) and the result are pretty amazing.
I averaged 30.77 Miles per gallon ( 8.75 liter for 100Km ) @ 70 - 75 MPH ( 110-120 KMH ) and city I averaged 16 miles per gallon ( 16.8 liter for 100 Km ).
To get those results my driving was very civilised but still.
I'm very happy.

Your car is absolutely brilliant!!
I flip flopped many nights before I decided not to do a V8. I love the combination of the chassis and engine. I think it is a very intelligent choice..
Your car is inspirational. I wish I had gone the extra mile like you on some of the undercarriage detail. No matter, I can always do it later. I just want to get some seat time in my car.
Props my man, that is amazing work.

Hello Rob.
1st I have to say ( as of Oct 26th 2011 ) that I have driven , so far , over 12,000KM with the new motor this summer ( 2011 ) .
Car is awesome and I had "0" issue what so ever with anything on the car except regular maintenance here and there that I will consider normal for a 23 years old car .
Car should go in storage around mid November depending of Quebec weather.
Here's my plan for 2011-2012 winter:
1st: Put back the original Power Steering rack you sent me last summer and I'll try to make it work with a Toyota MR2 electric power steering pump that I already bought earlier this year.
2nd: Will be adding A/C , I have bought everything new also earlier this summer so all I'm missing is custom hoses.
3rd: I would like to have the seat redone , nothing fancy , just refresh them.
4th....... I don't know to be honest.
I "may" remove my new motor , refresh the one I had in it ( 2010 ) , lower the compression and go Twin Turbo or supercharge it or just put some long tube headers, redo the exhaust line and add catalitic converter to my actual setup.
I'll decide later this winter.
I have 3 LT1 in my garage.
1 - 385 C.I ( 6.3L ) in the car right now.
2 - 355 C.I ( 5.7L ) "Original motor" from oil pan to throttle body with all electrical stuff ready to go in my car in case of a problem with my actual setup.
3 - A bone stock "untouched" LT1 for I don't know what. I have a spare motor in case if my spare motor breaks......
From what I can see is : what ever you do on a LT1 ( stroke it , beat it , etc. ) they don't seem to go bad and they are very reliable.
6.3L in the car :
Original motor :
GM LT1 5.7 Litre. 355CI Bore 0.030".
JE SRP Forged Pistons (10.3:1 compression).
Manley Sportsman Forged Rods.
GM hotcam Kit (hotcam, LT4 springs, 1.6 Roller Rocker).
Stock Aluminum heads.
Hedman 69640 Headers .
MSD Ignition.
CSR Electric Water pump.
Far left the bone stock LT1 :
I also want a paint job ( a real one ) but I'll strip the car in pieces to do that so I'm not ready yet.
I have the car since Oct 2009 and love it as much as the first day I bought it.
The car is so much fun and I get compliments everywhere I go from all groups of ages .
I have over 1200+ hours of work "fun" in the car.
I love working on it as much as driving it.
I just renew the plates "tag"on the car so I'm not ready to park it yet and I'll try to do a "End of season" video like I do every years if possible.
