Tiger Japenese **MUST READ**
Do not go near Tiger for anything.
A customer of ours bought an engine from them for his FD with out asking us first and brought it to us to have installed. Right away we checked compression on the floor and sure enough the rear rotor was blown.
So I took the engine back myself to Tiger as the customer couldn't get away from work during the week.
We unloaded the engine and the Manager Jon came out and looked at the engine I was returning and said he wouldn't take it back since I had removed the ugly wrecked RHD wiring harness. I drove 2.5 hours through Toronto traffic to get turned away because a hacked up harness wasn't on the engine!!
I told them I would go back to our shop and get the shitty harness and stuff it back on, thats the only way I could return it. So I looked through the pile of FD engines for a *good* one when I came back to exchange it.
Out of the 8 FD engines I looked at only 2 had actual compression on both rotors. They kept telling me the Cosmo RE is the same engine and there was no difference and kept pushing me to look at the 13B-RE engines.
After I went back to our shop and put the harness back on, my business partner Dan drove the complete engine back to them on a Saturday. He got to Tigers warehouse at 2:55pm. They told him they could not exchange the engine since they were closed and their workers were cleaning up for the day.
It would have been as simple as pulling the old shitty motor off and putting the engine I had checked out and had set aside on the truck which was conveiniently located right at the shipping doors.
They turned him away, again another 2.5 hour drive through Toronto wasted for absolutly no good reason.
If that wasn't enough, in the shipping area they were pressure washing dirty old scum-bag engines and immediatly shrink-wrapping them to skids ready for shippment!!
In the office I overheard one of the desk jockies talking to a customer about a 20B, he told the guy on the phone that a 20B will directly fit into his '07 RX-8 with no modifications. "Direct swap" he said.
I almost puked.
This business is the most shadiest place I've ever dealt with.
Please for the love of everything Rotary, do not do business with TIGER.

I'm really glad I could help out. As long as nobody buys anything from them, they will eventually go out of business.
Post this link to other car clubs in your area and spread the word.
I'm sick of hearing about people getting screwed by Tiger Japenese. Lets get these guys to close their doors for good!

The most recent thing I've heard from a customer with a T2 was that Tiger would sell him a *rebuilt* engine and install it for $1800!
I told him about how many people have been screwed by them before and if he takes his car there, it will get hacked up and they wont be able to finish it. Then he'll end up with a car worse than he had before and be out a bunch of money.
Honestly, everytime I heard the name Tiger mentioned I throw up in my mouth a litttle....

My dad has been there once, and he won't go back. From what he told me, they put oil into the engine before giving it a compression test. He had asked for an engine to be compression tested as we were looking at starting a project. They told him the oil was for "lubrication".
Once he told them he wouldn't buy anything unless they could show him an engine that was tested WITHOUT pouring oil into the combustion chamber. They told him no, and pretty much cussed him out.
To their credit, my dad did tell me the manager was polite when he first went in there. lol.

Try Corksport, I didn't get an engine from them, but they were bringing in a load of them. I waited for the next shipment and unfortunately all their S5 engines were parts engines. To there credit they were VERY upfront and they don't just send out sloppy engines.

I was going to buy an S5 off them as well in 2006, they changed there price 2 times. did not seam to know what they where talking about. and wanted to sell me a "direct fit 2Jz engine" or there dual turbo 13B re engine, but the ecu was an extra 600$ on top of the 2600$.... the more i called the more i noticed how bad they where.
i did end up getting an engine from Toronto JDM they were cool ppl and delivered it to north of London for 50$ it had good compression but i ran out of money so i sat to long and the oil seals got stuck on them but the engine is in MINT COND!!

TIGER JAPANESE SUCKS!
deal with them, and you'll get ripped off
my "working " R32 Skyline cost me over $6000 more than the purchase price before I could drive it again after the motor blew up, 12 hours after I bought it!
And of course, they wouldn't do **** for me.

Ah always had such a good feeling about how crappy they were. They had a FD they were selling for cheap at one point. I e-mailed them saying if you can provide a compression test i would buy it the next day. I never heard from them and sent quite a few more e-mails. Obviously they never got back to me, i bet the engine was indeed blown.

i saw this thread after puchasing a S5 TII swap from them the motor hadn't been cleaned and was damn sure it hadn't been tested but to my luck i got the motor droped it in and it runs fine i guess its just the luck of the draw but one thing is for sure after seeing how they treat there customers i will not buy from them again a $1200 risk now thats scary

I can vouch for Tiger sucking also. Almost two years ago I bought a H22 for my old accord when I got it it had a full oil pan of sludge, broken ringlands, one cracked sleeve, froze balance shafts, and spun cam journals.

These guys also fucked me. I purchased a 13b REW over ebay, and they sent me an s5 block. I had to threaten paypal action and other ebay actions to get 400 bucks back, which still wasn't enough money back for an s5 block. they claimed they "sent me the s5 block and sent the fd block to someone in washington." bullshit.
Then, I checked compression (hooked the starter up directly to a battery), and the rear rotor had somewhere around 30psi. I took the turbo off and looked inside, and it was rusted to hell, so I filled it with pb blaster. Eventually, I was able to pull 70 psi, so I found the engine to be OK.
These guys are scum bags. Never, ever, EVER send your money to them.
There's an excellent engine importer from Texas called jdmenginescorp. They sent me an immaculate motor for the right price.
