Unhappy R.i.p.

From Today's Washington Post, Metro Section Page B2, Maryland Briefing.

A 59-year-old Rockville man died yesterday morning as a result of a two-vehicle collision in Olney, Montgomery County police said.

Paul Ernest Myers was pronounced dead at the scene, near Georgia Avenue and Emory Lane, and the other driver, Eric Burlas, 18, of Brookeville, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

Police said Burlas was driving a Subaru Impreza WRX south on Georgia Avenue as Myers, in a Mazda RX-7, was turning left onto Emory Lane from northbound Georgia Avenue. Upon impact, Myers's car rolled over several times and caught fire, police said.

Be careful out there people. Lotsa idiot drivers.

Anyone know the guy? Was he a member here?

EDIT: Ah the video... Those are S5 Coupe wheels, most likely 1991 according to Icemark's FAQ.

Oh my god, I just met Paul Meyers last week. He owned an '03 Evo and was looking to trade for an FD (he had previously owned 3). He sold the Evo to someone just days ago. He was a very nice guy. I dunno what else to say. That's awful

That is the Paul Meyers I knew. Same e-mail address (comcast). I sent email to his address last night just on the off-chance that there's more than one guy with the same name in MD that drives a mazda.

Just hearsay but it sounds like the wrx driver was only 18 and exceeding the speed limit by a lot.

You still have his number or can you cruise by his house? Maybe confirm it's the same guy?

EDIT: The middle initial on the CarFax report is "E"... It doesn't look good.

If you can confirm it's him, maybe we should do something nice? Flowers, cards, etc?

My fiancee gets mad when I yell at her to do this or to do THAT when she's driving but what she doesn't understand is that I am making her drive more defensively.............i trust her driving and her ever-improving-driving-skills.......it's the other fucktards that I'm concerned about.

Rest in peace and my deepest condolences to the family.
