RX7 Mechanic in GA offering cheap work for limited time!!
Hey, I thought that I would let you all know that while I am looking for a new job, (I'm a senior systems engineer by trade), I am offering my garage and my labor to all those needing work on their RX7!!!
I have owned several of these cars, and have been doing this for years now.
I have all the special factory tools required to perform anything from an engine swap, to rebuilding and refurbising your interior!
I have a code scanner, a rotary compression tester, engine hoist, full air tools, and much more in my well stocked garage.
You can rent my space and use anything I have for your project...
OR
I can fix almost EVERYTHING on your late model 2ND gen car!
And I can refurbish/repair nearly ANYTHING on any OTHER car. (RX7 or otherwise)
I have restored interiors on older and newer cars countless times.
SO, get a quote from your local mechanic, drop me a line, here or by email, and I WILL make it worth your while.
I know what I know, and I know what I dont know. If I can't help you, i'll say so....
BUT..... If i can, I promise i'll do it as good as (most of the time BETTER than) your local shop, or NO LABOR CHARGE!
Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
If you want to know more about me, my attitude twards these cars, and how fanatical i'll be when working on yours, just search for all posts by me.
Read and you'll see, that I will make sure you leave in 100% better condition than when you arrived.
Where else will you find someone to work on your car, cheaper than the big shops, that you KNOW isn't trying to cut corners, or get onto the next customer!
Help me out, while I look for my next big job, and I'll make sure you get what you need done and then some!
I can provide references of others whos cars I have worked on, and show you pictures of my RX7 projects in progress.
I promise to impress.
Reply here, OR email me below....
Lets help each other out!!!

sniper...sorry to hear your between jobs. I have been out of one since last august. I started doing exactly what youre doing, in addition to selling 2nd gen parts over the net and locally, 2nd gen cars over the net and localy, and guess what...its really picked up now and I dont even need a freakin job :-)
Keep after it, do prople right, and they WILL come back to you. There are several people locally Ive sold 2 or 3 cars to, and I get return costomers over the net all the time.

I am a professional car audio installer (need stereo - i have a few full high power systems)
Tune ups (maybe need no parts)
hunting idle problems (tach jumps at idle) - (maybe need no parts)
6port rebuild -(no parts other than gaskets and cleaner required)
Brakes
electrical repair (all kinds)
complete resolder of whole car (fixes various oddities)
Reprime & repaint exterior parts
paintless dent removal
leather repair
My rates are by the hour (+parts)

Prime, paint, dent removal eh? Interested in painting a 93 s-10 showtruck with snugtop? Its currently black, with an airdam added up front. The bed is dented slightly ont eh upper bedrails, nothing bigger than 1/2". I want it put back black, with a small bit of silver metal in the black, and several coats of clear. It doesnt need to be perfect, but I would like it to be showable. I was planning to do it myself(first time) but I havent had time between mechaincal jobs. I figure if I buy the supplies it ought to be worth a few hundred, but I dont wanna be in the whole thing over about $700.Im also thinking of(first) trying to take out eh stock s10 doorhandles and put on 2nd gen rx7 ones..the shaved look without the hassle or expense of electronics.

Hell, if paint and clear cost ~$300 or 350, I wouldnt think $350-450 would be a bad labor fee for a day's work, sicne it wont need much prep work that I wont do myself(doorhandles, trim adn light removal, sand, etc.)

hmm...
TII needs:
- clutch work (aftermarket cluch goes squeeky squeeky)
- new bushings in rear
- new shocks (bouncy bouncy)
- possibly new springs
- brake work (1 grabs too soon)
- decelleration system work (reconnect the air pump to the catalytic converter, check BAC, etc..
- paint touchup (I have the touchup paint)
Convertible needs:
- clunking noise in sharp left turns (bushings?)
- paint touchup (I have the touchup paint)
- minor sideswipe repair

I can get what you need.
I use clutchmasters.
I would avoid changing things on a car with so many "issues"
lets basline this car, they were quite quick onff the factory line.
lets shoot for that, its a guaranteed working combination of parts.
Let me a look at this car...
well go from there.

I'd do that but I live around Dallas tx. Does anybody do anything like that around my area. I just recently had problems with my idle on my 90 GTU and i called rotary performance and asked them how much a BAC valve would run me, and the guy just straight up said "thats not the problem." So he talks tome for about 15 min and finally lets me go. So after school i decided to try it in spint so I found a ride out there so I called them up one more time to get the price. So bitch at me and say quit wasting their time. So finally I get the price ($80.00 Used) So i get the part put it on and guess what it solves the prob. What really pissed me off is that on the phone the first time the lady was relaying messages back and forth and the guy was sitting there saying that "I know what im talking about, I'm a world famous rotary mechanic." -----------It's crazy-------

the seatbelt light problem was actually discovered to be somthing BIZARRE!
Check this out.
This is a convertible so.....
The high beams are Latch on/ Latch off in the flasher/secureity/seatbelt cpu at the drivers left ankle.
Also, the seatbelt and security system would reset every 2 seconds.
I replaced the flasher CPU (only the big board on the back of it) with and extra one from a coupe i own, and all of it was fixed!! (Except the high beams, which had no control over now because this coupe ECU had no convertible latch circuit in it.)
I now need a replacement convertible flasher CPU and all the problems will go away.!!
Very bizarre...
(I knew about the new part you speak of but that for COUPES, not convertibles.)

Engine Swap ..
Sniper, sorry to hear you're between jobs man. Best of luck! Anyways, here's my deal:
I've got a 90 na that blew a seal last fall (the rear rotor's got way low compression while the front still seems okay -- this is using a conventional tester). A friend of mine and fellow rotary-head has a late-model fc mazda crate engine that he's going to sell me (rebuild -- documented 19,xxx miles on it -- block + water pump and CAS). We've been planning to do the swap ourselves but it's shaping up to be awhile before that can happen due to schedules, etc .. and the sooner I get the car back the better. So I've checked into getting it done by shops in the area (Mazdatrix and Atlanta RX7 specifically) .. quoted around $1k from Mazdatrix, and $700 from ARX7. As of right now I'm still leaning towards doing it myself whenever I get the chance, but I wanted to at least drop you a line. I suppose I really just want to know the following:
1. how much/long for the entire job?
1a. in this scenario, I'd definitely like to help .. that a problem?
2. how much just for your garage/tool usage (this would be tres' helpful as I'm in an apt. complex)?
3. should I decide to stay the course and do it myself, you willing to share some advice/tips?
I suppose that's about it. Thanks for your time man, and best of luck in this endeavor as well as finding another "official" job! If you prefer, email me (secondgen7@yahoo.com or dave.young@turner.com)
