***Dave (GuitarJunkie28) Memorial drive***
Couple of us are wanting to do something to remember dave by. He was truly a HUGE influance on the RX7 and RX8 club web sites. he has helped many of us So Cal guys out, many times not asking for anything in return. just a glimpse at how nice of a guy he was.
We (Vipers, my wife and I) are talking about setting up a memorial drive in Daves honor through Crestline. details will fallow soon, still need to get some info together. but this is more of a heads up. We are talking about doing it either THIS Saturday, OR NEXT Saturday. I want to talk to a couple people first as I dont want to step on any toes.
Like I said, I will post more details at a later time, this is just a heads up for those that might want to attend.

turb0x2 offered some money for flowes.... here was my reply:
there are no details yet, the only detail we really have right this second is that Vipers and myself will do a memorial drive. weather or not anyone else wants to join will soon be discovered. also what is to be layed at the grave site is also to be determined. Thank you very much for your offer, I will post details in the memorial drive thread as to what we might come up with. I really didnt want to ask anyone for anything, but we will see how it goes. Dave never seemed like much of a flower guy to me...... although flowers sticking out of a rotor like Vipers said........ MAYBE

not sure I could get that done in time Jesse. that would take MUCH MUCH MUC more time to do that then something simple like I just did above.

Hey guys, I came to the most recent San B. meet with a silver FD. I'll be able to make it next weekend for sure. I wish I could have had the chance to meet Dave, I've read many of his posts and have lots of respect for him, his demeanor, and his knowledge of rotary powered cars. He was certainly one of the most outspoken, comical, and active participants in our little community. RIP brotha.

I am in for the drive. BTW the weather this weekend is looking good so........I have hookup on car wash supplies, micro fibers/soap/ drying shammies, all we need is a spot and we could have a donation carwash?! Just an idea, we all drive a car, and it did just rain! I can provide supplies who has the spot?

sweet looks like a lot of people are willing to make it next weekend.
I just posted in Lil Reds contribution thread that what ever moeny I get form the decals that I make I will give to him to give to the family. (any money I get is considered a donation to the family)
I will work as hard as I can to make them as nice as I can. I am very busy this week and next so dont get your hopes up. but I will TRY to make them nice.

Just a note: You should check in with highway patrol, especially if it's a 2 lane highway and everyone is planning on pulling over to the shoulder and worse people walking on the edge. You don't want to ruin this by receiving tickets, being told to leave or worse another accident.
It's hard to beleive this happened but even harder to beleive he didn't have a seat belt or air bags. I know at 9am it started to rain or rather drissle which could have caused the loss of control.
If it takes money to hire one or two police excorts to do this corretly, i'm sure everyone will contribute. Whomever is in charge of this, please make it safe and memorable. I'm shure he would appreciate it if everyone bought a dozen roses for the girl as well. I know he would appreciate us paying his respect and regrets for him to the lady (and family) that he had no intention of hurting.

goracer... very much agreed.... i wont have anyone pulled over on the highway.... we will find the nearest turnout and park there... then maybe 1 or 2 of us lay the memorial at the crash site....this will be a 100% speed limited memorial cruise!
the police escorts are a good idea, but im not really sure if they would allow it... but ill try to look into it...
and that is a great idea to get flowers for the other victim... i think we all lost site of the other party involved... and she is still with us (god willing she makes it through).... does anyone have any info on her? a name? i know she is at loma linda medical..
