Hey there guys. I've seen many threads of owners wanting to Turbo their existing N/A blocks, and I've come across a method of doing so which I believe is very effective.
The goal of this writeup is to document my findings and any information acquired, as well as create and improve upon the original procedure. I'm writing this even for the average user with basic mechanical abilities.
This conversion will involve the removal of all N/A manifolds from your block, and the addition of the turbo counterparts. Essentially, your giving your N/A motor a facelift.
Before I even begin, here is the usual cover my *** disclaimer.
At no point will you hold me responsible for blowing up your motor, or any ill effects that fall upon you or your car. you attempt this at your own risk. feel free to ask questions. This is for an S4 Car! I know nothing of the S5's engine so do not attempt this if you have an S5! bad things will happen!
If your attempting this swap AT THE MINIMUM you WILL NEED the following
Turbo II Upper and lower intake manifolds
Turbo II Exhaust Manifold and Turbo complete.
Turbo II down pipe and midsection
Turbo II throttle body
Turbo II front cover (CHECK GASKETS AND O RINGS!)
Turbo II baffle plate
Turbo II waterpump
Turbo II throttle cable
Turbo II Ecu (you can retain your N/A harness )
Turbo II injectors (make sure to check for hi and low impedance)
Turbo II fuel pump
Turbo II intercooler (if going top mount)
Turbo II Hood (again, if going top mount)
Turbo II Afm (not required but a good idea)
Turbo II Pressure Sensor ( A MUST!!)
Knock Sensor (Not required, but a good idea to have)
Lower Intake Manifold Gasket
Gasket sealant (for good measure)

When undertaking this conversion, Emissions won't work. so if you are someone where this is a factor, I am unable to offer support here.
Emissions removal will be the first step, as it greatly helps with simplicity.
Here we have the patient. my basic 87 GXL.
Heres the stock S4 N/A Block, with all emissions and manifolds intact.
currently I am awaiting the block off plates arrival which should be here within the week.
Block off plates can be obtained from 2751 engineering and come with all required materials to mount and install. A kit will run you $35.00

Hope you plan on grinding down the ports to make them match....
There is already like 5 writeups on this BTW- ImprezzedRS (or something like that) has a detailed write up with photos from start to finish- including blown motor.. x3 i think...
Nothing wrong with another especially if you take lots of pictures.
Hope this works out for you, i've done this "swap" twice with good results, other then the fact that you MUST port your wastegate or prepare to overboost like crazy.

There's really not much to know.
Grab a 6 port gasket and lay it over a TII lower intake. It will tell you where you need to port and add material. Then bolt all the TII stuff onto the NA engine. Done.
