Putting extra puller fans behind IC and Oil cooler?
Hi,
I was just wondering if it is a good idea to put a puller type of fan behind the oil coolers and the vmount intercooler with a vented hood?

well it may not hurt, but for the most part the only time you need to be running extra air through the intercooler and oil cooler is when you are running the car hard, and boosting.
if you're running the car hard most likely you're accelerating, and wind is being pushed through. After i think about 30 mph the fans wouldnt really contribute to pulling air in and may actually hinder more air coming through. Now if you're doing lots of burn out contests where the car is being pushed hard but not really moving the fans would probably be a good idea. This is just my personal thoughts with no experience on the matter first hand.

Intercooler fan, not so much. As stated above, the only time an I/C fan would be beneficial is if you're under boost, and if you're under boost then you're likely to be moving down the road at a fair pace, stuffing air in through the nose of the car.

What I am wondering is if I have the fan behind the oil cooler as a puller, lets say if Im moving, will the fan cause any sort of ventilation block behind the oil cooler?

I have a fan behind the innercooler and use it in stop and go, if the temps are up when I turn it on then the temps may not go higher but the temps do not drop very fast . My guess is it is better than nothing.

Here you go:
Gotham attached these to my three rotor because I was having temp problems while idling/sitting in traffic during the summer. I also have two pull-type fans attached to my intercooler. Here is a pic of the two pull fans on the intercooler:
They're kind of hard to see but they're there. Temp problems solved!

The fan on the oil cooler idea crossed my mind as well the other day... I was sitting in 96 degree heat in the Taco Hell drive-thru... Longest wait in the history of drive-thrus I would bet.... and my oil temps got up to 190 and my water temps got to 104 C. I haven't seen temps like that... EVER. My Dual Mocal 19-row oil coolers usually keep my oil temps below 160 and with the Koyo radiator, I almost never see anything higher than 88 C.
